1: The first type of data storage device was the phonograph built by Thomas Edison. | Sound was stored on tape in the phonograph, the sound was played back with a needle sliding on bumps on the tape.
2: After storing sound on tape in a phonograph pictures were stored on film in cameras.
3: Floppy discs allowed data and programs to be transfer between computers. CD's were the next version of floppy disc with some advancements.
4: RAM stores data in computers.
5: Microchips allow more data to be stored in smaller device. Even now we are making advances in technology and how we use it in our lives. LIke this man how had a USB cable installed in to has prosthetic finger.
