LIBRARY HOURS Monday –Thursday 7am – 4pm Fridays 7am – 3:30pm Library Staff: Ms. Tahaney - Librarian Ms. Patlan – Librarian Ms. McQuaid – Librarian Ms. Warren – Library Clerk Mr. Williams – Tech Support

Entry: All students are required to have a current DHS student ID to come to the library. No pass is needed before school, after school, or during lunch. If you are leaving class to come to the library, you must have your student ID and the appropriate Block Pass to scan in at the front desk.

Books: You will need your DHS ID to check out. You can have up to 5 books at a time for 3 weeks. There are no fines for overdue books, but if a book is lost or damaged, you will need to pay for it before checking out anything else. Computers: During the day, students who are working on assignments will have priority over students who are using computers for personal reasons. Usernames and passwords may be obtained at the front desk.

Copies: Printed/copied pages in black and white cost 10 cents each. If you print in color, each page is 50 cents. Pick up all printer copies at the Circulation Desk. Behavior: Work quietly; use a voice 0, 1, or 2 as appropriate. Food and drinks are not allowed in the library. Ask for help if you need it.

DHS CARD CATALOG: To find a book in our library, log onto a computer and go to, or just choose “DHS Card Catalog” on our webpage under the area “Links.” LIBRARY DATABASES: We have many databases you can use when you need reliable information for a school assignment. See the librarians for usernames and passwords.

Now that you have reviewed our policies, we ask that you do one more thing before you come see us in the library. Please bring your Smartphone or iPod to school the day you come to the library and follow the directions on the opposite page to download a "QR Reader" App.

In order to participate in the Pirate Scavenger Hunt, you will need to download a “QR Reader” App on your smart phone. Simply go to your App Store or Android Market, click on your “search” button and type in “QR Reader.” Download one of the free versions onto your phone. If you do not have a smart phone, never fear; we will pair you up with someone who does have one.
