22: The Race Between Toad and Donkey Retold By: Roger D. Abrahams | Reflection This story relates to me because I face many challenges as well as Toad and Donkey. Also, I might not be the fastest or the strongest (like Toad), but I have a lot of perseverance. Unlike Toad, I do not usually cheat to win, even if I really want the winning title. The main cultural value that this story contain is trust because the frog had to trust that his kids would stay at the mile posts. I think that honesty was a cultural value that was not displayed because the frog cheated and did not tell the donkey.
23: Summary There was a race and Toad and Donkey both decided to enter. They both were boasting about how each one of them were going to win. So then the Toad took all of his identical son's and put them at each mile post. When the race started the Donkey was ahead but then when he called out that he was at mile one, the Toad's son called it out as well. Finally, the Donkey got so mad he quit before he got to the last mile.
