S: Elizabethan Era & William Shakespeare

FC: Elizabethan Era & William Shakespeare By: Shannon Roman

1: A horse was a very important animal back then, during the Elizabethan Era. The best way to travel around the town would be by a horse. | Geography

2: When walking through the town, there was lack of good street signs. So it would be key to be able to read a map, so you wouldn't be lost. It was a good thing to know your way around. | When ever looking at a map from Elizabethan England it will most likely consist of houses, restaurants, buildings, train stations, hotels etc. | Geography

3: Geography | England, Wales and Ireland belonged to Elizabethan England. When traveling in the a body of water they would use a boat to go on the Thames River.

4: Witchcraft was a big belief in England. There were two types of witches a black one who would be more physical (bad) and a white one who had to deal with wisdom (good). | Religion

5: When a person was accused of doing a bad thing, they would be referred to as a witch. These people would usually be persecuted, it didn't matter how much evidence was present. Many unfortunate deaths occurred because random people would be accused of being a witch. | Even though Queen Elizabeth was against Catholics, she was tolerable about it.

6: Achievements | -During the Elizabethan Era a great number of achievements have been achieved such as in the category of music. -Some achievements are the trumpet, and the violin.

7: The printing press was introduced and books started to be published, such as the bible. | They had other achievements like art, humans were mostly painted.

8: Politics | Queen Elizabeth ran a monarchy, which meant that she was in charge. She had odd laws, so people would follow them so they didn't have to face any harsh punishments. | If a person were to do wrong, or disobey, they were punished. One of the harsh punishment was that they would be stretched out until their bones were dislocated.

9: Politics | -Queen Elizabeth was very respectful because she would value and respect her subjects. -She would have all the power. | What happened in the government was private and was not meant to be shared with the public.

10: Economy | -London was the center of trade. -There was an increase of iron, tobacco & woolen cloth industry.

11: Economy | When a women would get married her family would have to give her future husband's family a dowry. A dowry could be money , land, jewels, etc. | Thanks to the great leadership of Queen Elizabeth, Elizabethan was able to become wealthy. She had great communication with other places.

12: Society | Your social status would determine what you would eat and wear. | Women would do the house chores and take care inside the house. On the other hand the men would work and take care of the outside business dealing with the family.

13: The society was organized by Monarch, Nobles, Gentry, Merchants and Laborers. The social rankings were believed to be decided by God. | Society | When the Bubonic Plague spread it killed one third of the population which is big.

14: William Shakespeare's Life | He was baptized on April 23, 1564 and he died on April 23, 1616 at the age of 52. | John and Mary were William's parents and they were glove maker's. William had four brother's and sister's.

15: William Shakespeare's Life | William went to school through elementary and while he went he studied the the subjects English and Italian.

16: William Shakespeare's Life | William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway and they had three children in total. Judith and Hamnet were there twins, but sadly Hamnet had died when he was only eleven. There other kid was Susanna.

17: William Shakespeare's Life | Rumors have been spread about William that he was a terrible husband. Also, it was said that Anne was pregnant before they even got married. | In the year of 1623 Anne Hathaway passed away. While she was alive her and William spent most of their life in Bishopsgate, London.

18: Shakespeare's Career | Most famous for his plays, poems and acting. Shakespeare move to London because he wanted to pursue in acting. | In total he wrote 37 plays, but some say more because they don't know if he really wrote them. Shakespeare didn't just write plays he also wrote sonnets and poems.

19: Shakespeare's Career | Shakespeare wrote all sort of plays, he wrote history, comedy and tragedy plays. Some plays that he wrote were Othello, Romeo and Juliet, All's Well That End's Well and As You Like it.

20: Shakespeare's Career | Shakespeare he achieved his fame and success because of his creations of plays which came to life. | He built his theatre outside London because theatres weren't allowed within the city walls. The Globe theatre opened Sept. 21st the year of 1598.

21: Shakespeare's Career | Shakespeare co-owned the Globe theatre with James Burbage. In the year of 1613 a fire broke out in the theatre. | The theatre was closed for two years because plague spread and killed many people. Women wouldn't perform in plays because Elizabeth thought women should stay home.

22: My Persona | Hello my name is Antonio and I'm 24 years old. I am a baker in the town of Verona. On a normal basis I would wake up around 6 in the morning go down to my bakery and get start making bread. I am in the middle class which means I make enough to support myself. I'm 5'7, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. I enjoy my job so I'm very hardworking I like to please my costumers, so I make sure I work to the best of my abilities. You come into my bakery I welcome you, I'm very kind and calm. I am a man that has no problems with anyone. My wardrobe consist of simple clothing like a shirt that is made of cotton and pants and shoes. I make sure that I wear my apron to help keep the flour off my clothing. My house is very average and simple, I don't have much, but I enjoy it. My house consist of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and a small spare room. I would take up one room and my brother would take the other. Everyday my meal must have a loaf of bread, considering I bake it everyday. I would have sometimes have soup that consisted of vegetables. My education wasn't so bad, because I had the opportunity to go to school all the way to high school and then start my life as a baker.
