1: Cultural Landmarks of Estonia | Estonia National Opera House The opera house id part of the Estonia Theatre building in Tallinn. It opened in 1913 and was the largest building in Tallinn when it opened. | Kumu Art Museum This is one of the largest museums in Northern Europe. It was founded November 17th,1919. It houses 58,897 pieces.

2: Cultural Landmarks of Estonia | The Saha Chapel is even older than the city of Tallinn.

3: The Hike | we made it

4: 2007 | Geographic Landmarks | a bumpy bus ride | Somaa National Park. It is known for having 5 seasons. The 5th is the high water season.

5: Kadriog Park is the most famous made made park in Estonia. It takes up about one hundred hectares of land.

6: Geogrpahic Landmarks | we made it | 1.Kaali Meteorite Crater is on Saaremaa Island near Estonia. About 4,000 years ago a meteorite crashed creating 9 craters, ranging in size from 5 meters in diameter to 50 meters.

8: seeing the city from above | Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Located on Toompea Hill features the largest cupola in Tallinn. | Toolse Castle Ruins- This castle was built in the 15th century. It was destroyed in the Great Northern War.

9: Kuressare Castle is one of the oldest Castles in Estonia. It is on the island of Saaremaa which is famous for it's history and nature. | Historical Landmarks

10: good eats | The seene-salat- is a mushroom salad made fredsh from the garden and is a traditional dish. | Rosoljie is a beet/herring potato salad

11: This is called Vanaema's kook, or grandmother's cake.It has a patry crust,jam and a crumb topping. | This appetizer is made from the countrys brown bread recipe which is rubbed with garlic, deep fried and served with a very garlicky tzatziki-esque cucumber sauce.

12: Some of the most popular sports in Estonia are: cricket,bandy,ice hockey,badminton,cross country skiing | An international ice cricket tournament has been played in Estonia every year since 2004. The Ice Cricket World Championship is held anually in Tallinn.

13: Bandy is a team winter sport played on the ice, where skaters use sticks to direct a ball into the opposing teams goal. It is played on a rectangle of ice the same size as a football field. Each team has 11 player,s one is the goalie. A game has two halves that are 45 minutes each. It is sometimes called winter football.

14: Estonia Song and Dance Festival: Once every 5 years tens of thousands gather in Tallinn for this festival. Only the best choirs are chosen to perform. On stage there can be up to 18000 people singing at once.

15: Traditions | Some traditions for Christmas in Estonia are: Taking Christmas bread to domestic animals in the barn and taking hay to the forest animals. People often go to the graveyard on Christmas Eve and light candles for loved ones. Christmas Eve is celebrated with a very large meal. The old traditions was to serve 7-12chri different meals on Christmas night. | Christmas Dinner in Estonia.

16: Currents Events | Why Estonia loves the Euro- A year ago Estonia moved changed from the kroon to the euro. | Estonia Unemployment rate falls- The unemployment rate dropped to 12.5 percent in 2011 from 16.9 in 2010.

17: Estonia eyes prison reform Estonia is looking to implement wide spread prison reform that will both slash the number of prisoners in the country and make it more difficult for fugitives to escape justice. | Estonia Monthly Gross Wages Rise 6.3%in Q4 Average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 6.3 percent in the fourth quarter.

18: Unique things about Estonia ~About 90% of the population files their taxes online. ~51% of their scientists and engineers are women. ~Estonians believe in trees- for example the Tulivere oak tree near Kuusalu helped reconcile married couples. For that the couple had to spend the night standing inside the cavity of the tree. ~Estonians respect the sauna- so much so that they have them built into buses,rafts an even an old fire engine.

19: Wedding Traditions | In Estonia at weddings they not only predict the next bride but also the groom. The groom at the wedding is blindfolded by the single men. Then they spin him around and he puts his top hat on one of the men,that is who the next groom will be. | A traditional Estonian wedding cake.
