1: Ferdinand and Isabella got married in 1469 and brought stability into both of their kingdoms. Five years after their marrige she inherits throne of Castile. Ferdinand argues that it should be his.

2: Ferdinand ten years later gets the throne of Aragon. Castile and Aragon stayed seperated; had different laws but the same religion.

3: They shared the rule of Catholic Monarchs which means that Spain was reunited. | The Pope let Ferdinand and Isabella to establish a special branch of the Inquisition in Spain. There is believed to be a danger to the church from Jews masquerading as Christians.

4: The first Grand Inquisitor is appointed in 1480. He is Tomas de Torquemada, who himself comes from a family of converted Jews. | His dedication to his task will become legendary. And the public much appreciates the great ceremonies which he stage-manages. | The expulsion of the Jews in 1492 coincides with the completion of the reconquest. Muslim power in Spain is at last brought to an end with the fall of Granada.
