1: Flat Julie arrives in Berrien Springs, Michigan on 3/19/12 | Flat Julie meets the 14 year old, four-legged member of the family, Ares or "Bubba", who is a Pit Bull. He is so nice! | Flat Julie meets the other four-legged member of the family, Topaz, who is 8 years old. He is very soft! | Flat Julie visits her "Aunt" Michele & "Uncle" David, good friends of her parents. They are so very excited to be part of her vacation adventure! "Aunt" Michele used to live in Coldwater, Ohio when she was younger. | Flat Julie meets her BIG "cousin", Cody, who is a 17 year old senior in High School and is 6 foot 5 inches! He is huge...his shoes are bigger than her, but she likes him anyway! She likes her four-legged "cousins" too!

4: Flat Julie was invited to a GrapeSEED Symposium! GrapeSEED is the English as a Second Language Program from Japan that "Aunt" Michele uses in her Bilingual -ESL classroom everyday! 5: While in East Lansing, Julie went to see the State Capitol, Michigan State University, and ate out at Bob Evans! That was a full day! She was so tired! Back to the hotel for a nap! | East Lansing, Michigan | "Aunt" Michele
6: Flat Julie took a little trip with Miss Chipchase, a Kindergarten teacher at Mars, for Spring Break! She accidentally got stuck to the bottom of the airline ticket when Miss Chipchase came to say goodbye to "Aunt" Michele before she left for: ARUBA!!! | US Airways Flight 877 ARUBA!! | Spring Break 2012 Radisson Hotel Aruba | Ahhh! That was quite the flight! Now for a nap! | Miss Chipchase told Flat Julie to call "Aunt Michele & Uncle David" to let them know she took an accidental vacation to Aruba! | Flat Julie in her seat on flight 877
7: Sea side view from our hotel room, breathtaking! How beautiful! | Miss Chipchase gave Flat Julie some money to get souvenirs. The money of Aruba is called a Florin. | Iguanas are everywhere in Aruba!! Cool!
8: Getting a pretty manicure for Easter in Mexico! | Eating REAL Mexican food in Las Flores, Progreso Mexico! Flat Julie found out that she doesn't care for Jalapenos! | Souvenirs! | Miss Chipchase sent Flat Julie to Donna, Texas so "Aunt" Michele's friends, Mrs. Janie and Mr. Mark could bring Julie back to Michigan and have another adventure on the way! First stop MEXICO!!
9: Making Cascarones! Cascarones are an Easter tradition in Texas and Mexico. They are hollowed out egg shells that are painted, filled with colorful confetti, and sealed in with tissue paper. Mrs. Janie and Mr. Mark hid them at the ranch and all of the kids collected them and then broke the Cascarones on everyones' heads! She had fun walking on campus on a beautiful spring Holy Saturday seeing the sights of the campus! | A friendly campus squirrel comes up to greet Flat Julie and to see if she had any food! | Flat Julie and "Aunt" Michele stop to smell the Lilacs! Ahhhh!!!

20: Tulip Time was started in 1927! It is one of the largest flower festivals in the United States. It celebrates the city's Dutch heritage - The Netherlands is the tulip capital of the world. The tulips of Holland, Michigan are brought over from the Netherlands. - The tulip is a native Dutch flower. - There are 6 million tulip bulbs planted for the Tulip Festival blanketing the city of Holland!
21: The annual celebration of Dutch heritage and culture is a multi-generational event in Holland. There are three parades, traditional Dutch Dance performances, concerts, theatre, Dutch attractions, Dutch food, and visitors from all over the world. 1,100 costumed locals perform traditional Dutch dances every day during Tulip Time throughout the City of Holland. They are dressed in Dutch costumes and are called “Klompen Dancers"! | Windmill Island | Flat Julie enjoyed "Tip-toeing through the Tulips" of a colorful Holland, Michigan. | "Uncle" David used to plant the tulips in Holland when he lived in Holland worked for the city .
