1: Young Life Francisco Vasquez De Coronado was born in Salamanca, Spain in 1510. He left home because his parents promised his older brother the family fortune. He then went to Mexico with Antonio De Mendoza and became governor of New Galicia in 1539.He believed in Roman Catholic.His ethnicity is Hispanic Soon he decided that he wanted something bigger. He wanted to find gold in America.
2: To find gold he would need help with the Indians. The Indians wanted for him to go away, so they told him false things about places where there were gold. | The problem was that every time they lied, he killed the Indian guide that brought him there. So he killed a lot of people. Later, he had to pay for it | Within three years of when he came to Spain, he had married the daughter of the colonial treasurer.put down a major slave rebellion, and had become governor of an important country.
3: Achievements He found a little gold.He claimed southwest part of the USA. He continued building the way for settling in America.
4: Obstacles He had many obstacles. Some are lack of a good map, lack of supplies, and lack of good medicine.
5: Punishments Spanish leaders branded his expedition as a failure. Also they said he treated the Indians very badly and deserved punishment. So as a punishment, he lost his privilege as governor. He soon died on September 22,1554. He was buried in Santa Domingo Church.
