4: A young man named Moss Trawnley travels from state to state looking for work during the Great Depression .His father is so drunk he can hardly remember who Moss is .Moss and his father travel from state by jumping on box cars when they are caught by police officers .They are sent to prison that night and to court the next day .The judge gives Moss a chance to earn money by joying the CCC or the Civilian Conservation Corps .While in the corps he meets new friends Nate Lundgren and Sam Whitney .The three best friends tough it out through the camp and training .They learn how to trust each other and to work together .
5: The moral of the story is when your in difficult times in your life work through it with the people who you care about and they will help you .The central idea is to put trust in people and hope that they will trust you .
6: Moss Trawnley-A seventeen yearold boy who lives in Muddy Springs, Texas .He sets out to find his father who left him and his family .Moss does any kind of wor to support his family back home .
8: Conflicts When Moss has the opportunity to join the CCC he makes the biggest choice in his life .Leave his father behind or stay with him.If he joins he will earn thirty five dollars each month and it is sent to his family . After several weeks in the CCC Moss earns the title of Junior Leader of the CCC .He does not want to leave his friends but the job offer earns him fifteen more dollars to his pay check .
9: Resolutions Moss takes the judges advise and joins the CCC .He feels a sense of remorse because he leaves his father all alone .He has flashbacks of him and his father riding boxcars and feels sorry that he left him . Moss takes the position as junior leader .His friends already knew he had taken the position .They talk it over and understand and decide that just because he is higher in rank does not mean that they still can not be friends .
10: Jeanette Ingold became interested in the CCC when she was in her early teens .She began witting and doing research on the CCC .She then realized that the CCC helped rebuild states during the Great Depression . She thought that everyone needed to know about theCCC and what they did .
11: Recommendations On a scale on one to five and one being the bes ans five being the worst i would have to give it a one .This book describes the lifes of people who are trying to make a living during the Great Depression .During the depression it was hard for people to find jobs because people had no money to pay other people to work for them .This book also teaches people how to trust each other and do what is right for them and people around them .
