8: Seventy-five percent of our Earth is made of water. Can you swim?
9: Can you believe we learned even more skills in the swimming pool? Well, we did! - Jump in the deep water - Kick the length with a kickboard - Swim the length of the pool - Jump off the diving board - Back float without a kickboard
11: We utilized our team work skills to solve a lot of complicated tasks. We learned that being a good listener for our peers is really important!

18: We read an hour a day! Not only did we improve our reading skills, but we also received a special reward!
19: Since we all read 10 books this summer, we each earned a free book from Barnes & Noble. Here we are getting our brand new books!
20: Alicja learned the sounds of the alphabet. She also learned how to jump in the pool and back float! | Kevin F. spent a lot of his time working on his math skills. He earned the most First in Math stickers in the third grade! | Edgar learned how to swim and was an all-star at telling time and completing math facts! | Eli learned how to pick "just right" books and to read with expression. He was the first to complete the deep water test in the third grade and swam over 50 laps in the swimming pool at one time! | Jason learned all about how to use punctuation in reading and writing. He also passed all of his AR reading quizzes, 13/13! | Jovelina learned how to pick a "just right" book and drastically improved her AR quiz scores! | Omar worked extra hard during one on one time with Miss Danielle to improve his fluency and comprehension skills! | Nubia learned how to connect her thoughts and sequence events to write an awesome story in Writer's Workshop! | Jerusalen learned how to use punctuation properly and add details to make her stories more interesting! | SUMMER 2009 | ONLY SOME
21: Ayana learned the chunking method to help her sound out longer words. She also learned how to dive in the swimming pool! | Keiry learned how to choose a "just right" book and can now read independently for an hour! | Tayanna wrote four stories in Writer's Workshop and learned how to challenge herself with more difficult books! | Kevin E. learned how to sequence events when writing stories. He also improved his comprehension skills through a lot of reading practice! | Kevin G. worked on building his vocabulary. He also learned how to jump in the pool and do the back float! | Jonathan challenged himself this summer by reading Fantastic Mr. Fox. He passed the AR reading quiz with a 100%! | Brayan wrote a hilarious, detailed story about a stinky boy who could not smell himself in Writer's Workshop! | Brenda read the most books out of all of the Horizons students; 45! | ACCOMPLISHMENTS
