1: Throughout the story, "I Just Kept on Smiling", there are a few lies going around. In this presentation, we will learn some of the ways to tell if someone is lying. Enjoy!
2: One simple way to tell if someone is lying is to watch their eye contact. A person lying doesn't usually make eye contact. This could give away his or her crimes.
3: A person lying has a tendency to touch their face, nose, and throat.
4: If someone is lying, they may talk more than normal. They may talk more because they are uncomfortable and cannot stand the silence.
5: Someone lying may also try to be more humorous and sarcastic. They are trying to soften the mood when they are being interrogated.
6: Also, contractions are a sign of lying. If you ask someone, "Did you do it?", and they say, "I did not do it", then they may be lying. For most people, using contractions are easier tan saying the entire phrase. So if you are not using a contraction, then you may be lying.
7: The liar may continuously say "believe me" and "honestly" a bit too much.
8: If someone is lying, they may be off on the duration and timing of their emotions.
9: A person may be lying is they are trying to make their words believable by making their body language very obvious. | If you are trying to find if someone is lying, you may want to try to change the subject. If they are guilty they will try to keep away from the old subject and if they are innocent, they would be confused for the change of subject.
10: Shifting from foot to foot is another sure sign of a liar.
11: The liar may slouch, lower their head, and may mumble.
