FC: The Caste System Italy
1: In India they have classes in which they separate people into different sections according to how they lived their life in the past life or how wealthy they are.
2: The original caste system, Varna, of India came about when the Aryan-speaking nomadic groups migrated from the north to India about 1500 B.C.
3: The Aryan priests divided society into a caste system of four parts. Between 200 B.C. and 100 A.D., the Manu Smriti, or Law of Manu, was written. The Aryan priest- lawmakers created in it four hereditary divisions of society, putting their own priestly class at the head of this caste system with the title of earthly gods, or Brahmans.
4: Brahmin is the highest rank within the caste system. People who led a good life in the past move up to this. Brahhim's are usually priest
5: These people are apart of the Kshatriyas caste important to the community because he is a farmer and is a main source of food.
6: The Vaishya caste are shopkeeper and sell products
7: Within the caste of Shudra there are many different groups. Each one of these groups performs a service. The Barhi carpenter shown above is shaping a board to become a piece of furniture.
8: Untouchable is the is the lowest section of the caste system the people that are in here led a terrible life before. These people are usually called outcasts
9: There are literally thousands of subcastes in India, often with particular geographical ranges, occupational specializations, and an administrative or corporate structure.
10: The Indian caste had hereditary membership. Marriage was only permitted within the same caste. There were restrictions on the choice of occupation and on personal contact with members of other castes.
