1: This is our Caraway brag book to show our students' learning. Visit often and see what is new.
3: Texas STAR hockey team members visited Caraway on Monday, January 23rd and spoke about the Science of Hockey. This picture (shown) is of three Texas STAR members and one of our first graders who also plays hockey.
4: The Caraway PTA sponsored a wonderful on-site field trip at school this past Monday and Tuesday. 6: The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program improves children's reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method:reading to a dog. R.E.A.D. dogs are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team, to be reading companions for children. Caraway students are fortunate to have two dogs who read with students once a week.

8: Down Syndrome Association Calendar ~Mr. January~ Former Caraway student,Ty Harvey
9: Ty is a former trainer for the Westwood High School football team. This past summer he was a fitness intern at Northwest Family YMCA and recently was hired by the YMCA. | Ty also participates in the Special Olympics as a Global Messenger. | Ty's mother states, "If it wasn't for Caraway, Ty would not be where he is today." Not only is his entire family proud, but so is all of Caraway Elementary.

11: Pictured here is Caraway student, Santiago and his twin sister, Camila. They were photographed for the 2012 Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas Share the Passion calendar. Pictured with them is Mr. Paul Brown, anchor for Your News Now cable network, YNN. In the picture, they are sharing their passion for animals. The calendar is intended to advocate and raise awareness by showing people with Down Syndrome have the same passions as all of us. October is Down Syndrome Month. Caraway students will be raising money for the Down Syndrome Awareness at the 12th Annual Buddy Walk.

15: Kindergarten gain computer skills using Kid Pix: Logging on and opening a project, drawing lines, making shapes, draw and print, making patterns with the stamp tool. and with dot to dot they practice counting. , | Kindergarten
16: First graders have learned about careers. They culminated their unit by having a Career Day.
17: Second graders are learning math a fun way using First in Math online provided by our PTA and with Leapfrog "Digis" provided through a grant from DonorsChoose.org.
18: Third Graders have been researching countries using online sources and books. The classes are either making PowerPoints, Photostories, or Glogster posters to deliver their information.
19: Fourth grade is loving their new data projectors and document cameras!

22: Tag 5th graders assessed their knowledge of geometric vocabulary by | creating PowerPoint slides with concrete examples.
