 African Americans

This picture shows how the unemployment rate for African Americans was higher than the Whites. http://often-wrong-never-in-doubt.blogspot.com/2010/03/its-great-depression-for-black.html | Overview | During the Great Depression African Americans had a harder time making money and keeping jobs. Whites thought that they needed jobs more than African Americans. Black farmers had a hard time making money because cotton prices were decreasing. Whites would kill the African Americans for their jobs

Other than the KKK, there were many other groups that discriminated against African Americans. One of those groups were the Black Shirts. The Black Shirts paraded around Atlanta Georgia with signs that read "No jobs for niggers until every white man has a job." In other cities people shouted "Niggers back to the cotton fields. City jobs are for white men." | Discrimination | This picture shows some of the Black Shirts parading around the city. http://jspivey.wikispaces.com/Obsession+with+Crime+and+Punishment+MAH

 American Indians

Overview | Like the African Americans, the American Indians had a hard time during the Great Depression too. The American Indians were a group that suffered from racial discrimination, economic disadvantages, and exclusion. The Indian Reorganization Act of June 18, 1934 was an act to conserve and develop Indian lands and resources. It also provided vocational education for Indians and many other purposes. They were given a chance to have their own businesses, an opportunity for integration, and a chance for better jobs.

Why did we have to be treated differently from everyone else? We have suffered enough and we want our freedom!
