22: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
23: Summary At the great new years feast King Arther was challenged by the green knight. When his nephew stepped in for him. The challenge was that if Sir Gawain (a.k.a Arther's nephew) was to chop off the green knight's head a year later the green knight would do the same to him.So Gawain chops off the head of the green knight. So one year later Gawain goes to have his head chopped off by the green knight. When he comes across a castle. He goes into the castle and the king of the castle says that if Gawain was to stay there that Gawain would have to give the king what ever he was given. The wife of the king gives Gawain a invincibility belt that night when Gawain was going to leave the king asked Gawain to give him what he had gotten. Gawain said he had gotten nothing and with that the king lets Gawain leave. When Gawain gets to where the green knight lives he is wearing the invincibility belt. When the green knight swing to cut off his head the belt works and Gawain life is saved. Reflection A word that relates to this story is courage. I think of courage because it would take a lot of courage for Gawain to go to the green knight knowing he would have his head chopped off. A story I have that relates to this is one time I went repelling and it was my turn to go down. To me those first few steps that I took I had to have courage that I would get to the bottom safely.
