13: The Darkness-Descriptive image poem There is a dark hooded sadness Crouch at the bottom of my soul Waiting with bitter patience He does not howl or scream But he makes his presence known with an incessant maundering ring Like hollow chimes in the swirling winter wind He does not touch me or speak to me But he tries to follow me at the heels with the persistence of a shadow And then pools around my feet Like the wax that holds a melting candle to its ground 13

15: At The Dance-Narrative poem Mercury stood with mental pen in hand dreaming of intergalactic connection Venus swirled towards Earth, elusively just beyond reach, but visible Mars, crouched for a fight ever ready for the sport of it Asteroids were dashing about daring each other to jump in the pool Snaking in the distance Jupiter loomed rotund Saturn glanced over disapprovingly not inclined to indulge in any delight Uranus was watching Venus, got aroused, began vibrating Neptune danced in the parking lot, inebriated, oblivious, her sequined gown a butterfly. And Pluto tripped the switch and sent them all into orbit. 15
