1: This is a picture of a time-line when the Mississippians were living. The green box shows where on the time-line they existed.

2: The Mississippians lived in Midwestern, Eastern, and Southeastern United States. They developed in Mississippian River Valley, Tennessee River Valley. They were around from 800A.D-1500A.D.

4: The animals that Mississippians hunted were white-tailed deer, rabbit, muskrat, beaver, raccoon, and turkey.Archaeologists also found the bones of waterfowl, amphibians, reptiles such as turtle, and fish. Fish was an important way of getting protein.

5: The animals go in order from first to last, starting with white tailed deer and ending with fish.

6: Mississippians were farmers and they grew were corn, squash, and eventually bean.Also they are Hunter-gatherers.

8: Mississippians used food utensils which were knives, pots, and bowls

10: Other tools that they used were digging sticks, a hoe for gardening, celt, drill, and microdrill.

12: Mississippian weapons were manly arrowheads. They were used to hunt almost all the animals that they hunted.

14: Mississippians houses were made of branches,clay, mud, etc.

16: Mississippians were known for being Mound Builders. | Platform Mound | Platform Mound | -Platform Mounds are where some Mississippians built there houses. -Temple Mounds are where the Mississippians had their special ceremonies. -Craig Mound it was used for special burials. | This Mound was named Craig Mound.

18: The men wore deerskin shirts and leggings.Women wore bark made from trees to make skirts and shirts. They'd weave the bark into clothes. Women would make skin wraps when it was cold. Jewelry that they wore was necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, pins, brooches, and others.

20: So the Mississippians to cominicate they made petroglyphs(left) and pictogragphs (above and right)
