2: Sometimes I listen, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I chat, sometimes I won’t. Depend on the day, I just might yell back. It really just depends on what I think of you. I’m not (the average) friend. And I ain’t going to be dishonest. But I learned that sometimes, lying is fine. Because I am own person. I’m not the average friend. My worth is not determined by who I’m seen with. No matter where or when, I will always be your best friend. | Where I'm From
4: I am from the clouds, the altostratus. I am from Christmas and long, lanky fingers, from Eric and Yun and Halmunie. I am from the gentle words and determination. From Santa and the Tooth Fairy, I am from the words of God and the crucifix of Jesus. I'm from generosity, Korea, and rice. From the funeral of my great grandmother, the loss of the family pet frogs, and the time my family left Korea along with all the people in it behind. I am from the box full of pictures and memoirs, The one under the TV stand, Waiting to be opened once again.
6: On a mid-summer day, During the frenzied heat waves, In the quiet state of Georgia, Walked in a woman, To make a scrumptious snack for her son As she got ready to cook, A giant spider fell, From the ceiling, left up on its back Crying for help until the paper came down Ending its life The mother got the cookie dough, Added in the M&M’s of wondrous colors, Blue, green, red, yellow Made little round circles, and put them in the oven
7: She set the timer, And proceeded to watch her dramas, Strange smells, began to arise, But the timer had not rung! Quickly, the mother stopped the oven However, it was too late, It was a sad day for both the boy and the mom For no delicious homemade cookies would be served That day
