1: Georgia Performance Standards : S7L2. Students will describe the structure and function of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. c. Explain that cells are organized into tissues, tissues into organs, organs into systems, and systems into organisms.

2: Cells | A cell is the lowest level of organization to have all the characteristics of life. Every cell in your body has a specific job.

3: Tissues | \ | Groups of cells that share similar functions are organized into tissues. There are 4 main types of tissues in your body.

4: Organs | Organs are made up of at least two different types of tissue functioning together for a common purpose. Examples of organs include our hearts, kidneys, & liver. Did you know our skin is our largest organ?

5: Organ Systems | Organ sys | Organ systems are made up of two or more organs that work together to perform important complex functions. There are 10 major organ systems in the human body.

6: Organisms | A living thing that can carry out all life processes is an organism. Complex organisms such as most plants and animals are made up ofseveral separate organ systems.
