S: Over the Top of The World

BC: Over The Top of The World is a story about a girl named Sara that goes on an quest with her friend Jax. Their trail leads them to a adventure around the world. So they can find all of the secret ingredients.

FC: Over The Top of The World | By: Jena Thompson

1: There once was two friends there names where Sara and Jax. They used to always go for rides on there broom. If they could, they would ride all day. Jax was always the brave one but Sara was definitely the brains. Her favorite subject was always geography. She soon found out that she would use it in more places then just the classroom.

2: But finally that day came. It was a beautiful day and Sara was studying in the classroom. When her teacher came by and saw her. He asked what she was doing inside on such a pretty day. She replied to him "studying of course." But just then her teacher had a ideal, one that would get Sara out of the class room and teach her friend Jax a geography lesson. "Sara," he said. "Why don't you take Jax to get me some more ingredients for my special potion?" "O.k. professor," she replied. So Sara and Jax were off to find the ingredients.

3: "So where are we?" asked Jax. "We are above the Atlantic ocean," stated Sara.

4: "Where are we now?" he asked. "You know you should really learn geography the first element would work perfectly in this case," she said. "What's that?" he asked. "It's where you use mental maps to find out where you are in the world," explained Sara.

5: "So what is the first ingredient?" asked Jax. "Well we already got the hair from the professor, so lets get the flies next," said Sara. "So where are they?" he asked. | "Well they live by rivers in warm climates, usually south of the equator. To figure where they are you would use the second element. You do know what the second element is don't you?" she asked

6: "No," answered Jax. "Well it's how things are usually in places of the world where they fit in to the environment and features," she said. | "O.k. so if the fly likes warm weather, water and the south, then would they be in South America?" asked Jax. "Yes they would," Sara answered.

7: "Now that we got the flies, what do we need next?" asked Jax "We need a Bicorn horn," answered Sara. "So where do we need to go?" he asked.

8: "Well since the Bicorn migrates up North, then they will probably be in Europe," said Sara. "O.k.," replied Jax. "Did you know that migrating is apart of the third element. This element is the characteristics, distribution, and migration of human/ animal populations on Earth's surface," she explained. "I didn't know that," he said.

9: "What's next on our list?" asked Jax. "We need Boomslang skin," Sara said. "Where would you find that at?" He asked. "In Africa," she said

10: "You know that by finding the shed skin we can see where the boomslang has been. This is kind of like the forth element which is applying geography to interpret the past. But an even better example is Pangea. You know the continents once fit together, because of their geographic shape." explained Sara.

11: "Now that we got the boomslang skin. What's the next ingredient?" asked Jax. "Next we need leeches," answered Sara "Let me guess, leeches live in water don't they?" he asked. "Yes they do," she answered.

12: "We need to go to Lake superior in North America to get the leeches," she said. "O.k. but I'm not touching them," said Jax. "Did you know that this lake is apart of the fifth element. The fifth element is all of Earth's features, like mountains and rivers," said Sara.

13: "O.k. our last ingredient we need is fluxweed." said Sara "So where is that?" asked Jax. "It's in the United States," she answered.

14: "O.k. I've got the fluxweed. It was really hard to find I guess the air is really polluted, it must be affecting the environment. Actually that is the six element, how human actions modify the physical environment," stated Sara. "Is that all we need?" asked Jax hopefully. "Yes we have all the ingredients for our potion," she said.

15: When they finally arrived back to the classroom... Jax asked "Professor why did you send us on that quest?" He replayed, "Well I sent you out there to learn. Did you learn anything Jax?" "Well, I guess I did," said Jax. "And what was it that you learned?" asked the professor. "Well I learned about the six essential elements of geography. First using mental maps to find out where you are. Second finding the place in the world that best suits you. Third the characteristics of humans/ animals. Forth using geography to interpret | the past. Fifth is all the features on Earth. Last how humans effect the world," replied Jax. "Well I guess you taught him well," said the professor after Jax left. "The funny thing is I didn't even know that I was teaching him that stuff. Oh and here's all the ingredients for the potion. Oh and if you don't mind me asking why did you need the potion anyway?" asked Sara. "I didn't, now go on outside with Jax," said the professor.
