1: This a Greek mathematician named Archimedes. He made many contributions in math and science on his quest for knowledge.
2: Archimedes used the principle of buoyancy to determine whether a crown was made of gold and less dense silver.
3: Archimedes developed the screw to remove bilge water from large ships.
4: Archimedes developed the claw to defend the city of Syracuse from incoming ships by sinking them.
5: Archimedes developed the heat ray to concentrate sunlight into a beam that will catch ships on fire.
6: Archimedes created the real numbers system during his time of deep depression
7: Archimedes created pi to figure out the circumference of a circle.
8: Archimedes did an experiment called the sand reckoner to find out how many sand grains could fit in the universe.
9: Archimedes also created the method of mechanical theorem that say that you can break something up into infinite pieces and find out it's volume or area
