 Brian Reese | My Nature
I have three little brothers and we all live together with my mom and my dad. The four of us are all very distinctly either have my Moms side of the families traits or my dads. | My dads traits include height and long 'finger-like' toes. I as well as my youngest brother have those Reese characteristics. Jason, the one on the left in the picture, has the Trout characteristics my Mom has which include a husky build and short, stubby toes. My oldest younger brother, Aaron, is a hybrid between the two. He is husky and has short stubby Trout toes, but he is also tall like my dads side of the family.
My Nurture The 2 biggest people that had an influence on my nurture are most definitely my Mom and Dad. My grandparents and family have played significant roles as well as my entire family is very close. My grandfather is my idol because of how he lives his life for Christ so he has had a big influence on me as well. Youth Pastors throughout my life have impacted me as well and my youth leaders from my church and a Bible study I attend also affect me majorly today. My friends are very important to me as well. Teammates as I have played football the last few years have also affected me and influenced my life in certain aspects of it. My parents are by far the most important however, as they have instilled in me the values and beliefs I live on today.
My Development I was born 2 weeks early however I was still always in the 90Th percentile in regard to my size. I progressed normally in my speaking abilities and motor skills. One unusual thing that I did up until age four is that when we went to other peoples houses the first thing I always tried to do was find their vacuum cleaner. I would search their houses to find it, according to my Mom and she believes it was because I associated Vacuum cleaners with lawn mowers, and I loved lawn mowers because my grandfather always took me for rides on his. The false association I had between vacuum cleaners and riding mowers is a great example of me being in one of Erickson's development stages because while they were not actually related at all, in my mind, because they both made noise, they were the same thing.
My Learning As far as learning goes in my life, I was always more of a visual learner. I know in elementary school I always did best when we did hands-on projects. The best example of social learning in my life that I can remember has gotta be in 5th or 6th grade when I first had the desire to fit in with everybody. I learned what kind of clothes were popular, what the cool things were to say, etc. Observational learning is probably the biggest way I learn in football today. I love watching a football game and just studying the Qb and the game itself and I believe I take alot out of it when I do so. A great example of classical conditioning in my life is how I got into the habit of reading a chapter of my Bible every night. I started about 2 months ago and now, I've gotten so used to reading it every night, at about 10 oclock every night I know its time to read because if I dont it doesnt feel right.
My Memories Early Years The first memory I can remember is going to a babysitters house. Just a glimpse of it, but I remember not wanting my Mom to leave. I briefly remember not listening to my Dad at my grandparents once when I had wondered out of the yard. I remember our dog, Dusty as well, as she was alive until I was 12. Elementary School i remember who my best friend in Kindergarten and remember having several people over through out elementary school. I also recall our music class concert that we did every year. I remember 9/11 and where I was when it happened. I was in 5th grade and was sitting in the class room when my class heard about it
Junior High Years My biggest memories from Junior High school involve football and my youth group at Chambersburg Bible Church. I remember the friends I had and playing football with them all the time. I have strong memories from my Vacation Bible School of my 7th or 8th grade year and how much fun that was. Senior High Years My lowest memory is our Big Spring game from my sophomore year, it was our lone win that season but I still played horrible. My highest memory was our win against Carlisle during my Junior season at home. It was absolutely incredible. Most memories from my sophomore year I have are not real good ones, however the vast majority of them from my Junior year have been great. TV wise, NFL Network all the time and ESPN as well. Lil Wayne and hip hop I will always associate with high school because it was my freshman year that I first started getting into it.
