FC: Trans- Atlantic Slave Trade By Summer Vanleeuwen

1: The motivation behind the starting of the slave trade was the Europeans wanting a large labor force. The homelands of most of the enslaved people in Africa | were in the East or Western area. African rulers eventually started trading slaves for guns. About 10 to 15 million African slaves were sent to America from 1500's to 1800's.

2: The middle passage was the leg of the slave triangle that brought Africans from west Africa to the Americans.

3: Effects of Slave Trade | - Disrupted society -Caused wars -Economy harmed -Captives harmed

4: Oladuah was one of the many captured slaves. After many years of saving money from selling fruit to the sailors, he bought his own freedom. He met with the Society for the Abolition of Slavery and made public speeches from his first hand knowledge of slavery treatment. | Oladuah Equiano
