FC: Emma & MaCayla's Spring Break 2012
For spring break, our families decided to take a trip to Tybee together. Riding with the Cooks is a very interesting experience. | Friday, March 9th | purple font= infinitive red font=gerund
First Stop: Dairy Queen! First, we stopped at Dairy Queen to get a bite to eat. MaCayla decided to get a quesadilla and onion rings...where we found the most amazing onion ring ever imaginable. IT WAS SHAPED LIKE A HEART! | Friday, March 9th
Finally at the beach! We arrived at MaCayla's condo at around ten o'clock. The next morning, we were going to go onto the beach, but unfortunately, it was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING. Freezing isn't any fun at the beach. OH WELL! | Saturday, March 10th
 Saturday, March 10th
Swinging is not fun when you are "ALL BY YOURSELF". | Then, we decided to go to the playground for a while...not disturbing anyone's peace of course. | Saturday, March 10th
Later that Afternoon... We decided to go to Tybee's annual St. Patrick's Day parade. They have it a week early to aviod traffic for Savannah's mega parade the next weekend. Shivering isn't any fun at parades either... That's why we got these super adorable sweatshirts and some sunglasses! | ALMOST! | Saturday, March 10th
Sunday, March 11th | NEXT STOP:
But first, a trip to Walmart...where Emma meets her true love.... | Getting distracted by Logan Lerman lead to some unwanted stares...but Emma was in a trance so she didn't notice.. | Sunday, March 11th
Eating at Uptown was quite the experience. There was a creepy lamp lady and there were arms sticking out of every wall for decoration, but the food was delicious. | After our meal we headed to River Street.
NEXT STOP: | ! | Walking off our amazing meal from Uptown made us decide that we could go to purchase some candy. MaCayla had her first saltwater taffy, and Emma devoured a praline! | Sunday, March 11th
MaCayla's dad, Patrick, grew up in Savannah, so he decided to take us on a personal walking tour of downtown.
'Rebelling' is fun with friends. | I guess we don't really know how to rebel...like this guy. I mean, look at those purple pants!
We also saw some pretty weird and cool things that Emma just had to get a picture of!
After our lovely day in Savannah, we went to the beach the next day. To finish the day off, there was a low country boil at the Adam's place! MaCayla's Dad's birthday led to some delectable Publix birthday cake and ice cream! However, the lady that was writing on the cake misunderstood. Instead of our attempted pun "Happy Mr. Patrick's Day", it read "Happy Birthday, Mr. Patrick's Day". Learning is helpful: to achieve the correct statement on your cake, WRITE IT DOWN. | Monday, March 12th | This was also the first time that MaCayla had ranch and carrots!!
After the professionally prepared low country boil was eaten, Emma and MaCayla ventured out to the porch to play their guitars and sing. Singing and playing impressed and pleased the neighbors, obviously, except maybe the people drinking and smoking next door...hope that's the last time people are going to walk away when we are singing. | Monday, March 12th
On our last day in Tybee we went to Uncle Bubba's Sea Food and Oyster House. Bubba is the famous cook, Palua Dean's little brother. Emma's dad worked with Bubba for many years so we came to have lunch with him. Eating with Bubba gave us special treatment. The staff was on their their toes to get us everything we could possibly need! | Emma's lunch ~6 corn muffins ~A few fried pickles ~2 Fried Oysters ~Fried Shrimp with a loaded baked potato and Mac n Cheese * A ton of Dr. Pepper* | MaCayla's Meal -4 corn muffins -3 fried pickles -about half of her fried shrimp with fried okra and cheese grits. *too much amazing sweet tea* | Us with Mr. Bubba | Tuesday, March 13th
Leaving the table we realized how much food we had eaten.....but Emma and MaCayla still had room for desert. We got an amazing Creme Brulee and polished off every bite.
