FC: The Case of The Disappearing Jobs

1: What is it about? Jobs Disappearing all over the work force. | Covering the topic | Who does it involve? Canadians and Americans losing their jobs. | What is the role of the government? The government needs to be directly involved in the decision making about jobs (Canada's opinion).

2: What is the role of the individual? They see if they qualify for EI. If they do they can take more courses to make them better workers and then go and get another job. | Why is it an issue or topic? When a large amount of people lose there jobs it can upset the economy. The government need to know what to in these situations and some people agree that tax payers money can be used to support people that have lost their jobs. There are also people that do not agree that the money should be used in this way.

3: What evidence is there to support what you are saying? Lost jobs can result in not as much money being spent. Because as soon as you don't make money you aren't spending money which is not good for the economy. | Key facts, and important information; When a person loses their job in Canada you can qualify for support from the government. In the U.S if you lose your job due to product not selling you will be expected to find a new job or product that will sell. | Examples: The Hershey plant closing down and causing about 500 workers to lose their jobs.

4: Market Economy- A market economist would say that it is the person's responsibility to find another job. Mixed Economy- In a mixed economy the government will provide a certain amount of tax payers dollars to support the person till they find new work if they qualify for the help. | Perspectives

5: A disgruntled employee would say that they have been laid off due to bad economy not because of their actions. So they would expect support from the government. | Disgruntled employee
