1: Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12th, 1809 in Hardin County, KY. In 1816, Abe and his family moved to Indiana.

2: Abraham Lincoln grew up on a farm, and did a lot of farm work as a young boy. He didn't have a good education, But he learned how to read and write without any schooling.

3: In 1834 Lincoln won a seat in the Illinois legislature, and in 1846 Lincoln was elected a United States Representative in Illinois, And finally in 1860 Lincoln received the republican nomination for president.

4: Lincoln and the Civil War

5: what did Lincoln do in the Civil War? | Lincoln was a steady leader in the Civil War. He used his intelligence to his advantage, a made sure he also took advantage of the resources around him. He also knew the the north needed to win this war so he hired the best general for the job.

6: Lincoln's large role in the Civil War

7: Abe Lincoln had a huge role in the Civil War. He had a realistic view on the war, and believed that the war is best prosecuted by killing the enemy.

8: Another reason Lincoln had a huge role in the Civil War, was the Emancipation Proclamation. This document stated the all the slaves in the country.This helped a lot because then the slaves came to the north and fought the south with passion.

9: Benefits From President Lincoln

10: The north definitely benefited from Lincoln because he was anti slavery and came up with the Emancipation Proclamation. Lincoln believed in what the north believed in and made their hopes for the country come true.

11: The south didn't benefit from Lincoln because they were pro slaves. and when Lincoln put the Emancipation Proclamation all of their plantations had no workers because all the slaves were hired to work on their farms.

12: If Abe Lincoln had never been around, this country would be very different. | I think slavery would end like it did, but I also believe it would've lasted longer.

13: Life during the Civil War would be different without Lincoln because he had a very clear idea of how the country should run, and he executed that well with his intelligence.

14: Abe Lincoln is not alive because John Wilkes Booth killed him when we has watching a play. He thought Lincoln was helping the south.
