2: There are five top causes of the great depression. Number one would be stock market crash of 1929, they lost about 40 billion dollars. Number two is the bank failures. The bank was uninsured and thus people lost their savings.
3: Number three is reduction in purchasing across the board. People stop buying items which meant people lost their jobs and were unable to buy anything. Number four is American Economic Policy with Europe. Government created the Smoot-Hawley Tariff in 1930 to help protect United States companies. Which charged a high tax for imports which meant leading to less trade between America and foreign countries. Number Five is the Drought Conditions. The drought in Mississippi Valley lead to people not being able to pay taxes and end up having to sell their farms.
4: The Great Depression started in 1929 in October. It ended in 1941, It was 12 years of miserable living.
5: There was hunger, poverty, and unemployment. When the drought came, they lost a lot of water, how were they going to grow crops? No Crops meant no money for the farmers and no food for other people.
6: The Great Depression affected a lot of people. Men, Women, and children of all classes, People were homeless and hungry. They all want jobs and no one wanted to buy something because that meant losing more money.
7: The Great Depression ended December 1941, the same time we got involved in WW2. The economy was in expansion since June of 1938, two and a half years before U.S. went into the second World War but economy stopped expanding in February 1945, prior to the end of the war. More people went to war and women started working in factories.
