FC: The Librarians Night Before Christmas By: Vriter 38 8-7
Twas the Night before Christmas when all along the shelves,
Not a page was flipping, not even in section twelve
The computers were shut down by the scanners with care,
In hopes that no citizen would come to pick a book to share.
The c.d.'s stood lined in their spots, | While the d.v.d.'s were made to look like mini robots.
And the coffee machine humming, | With my fingers drumming, | Were waiting it out for closing time coming
When out in the aisles there rose such a clatter, | I put in my book mark to see what was the matter.
Away to reception I flew like a page, | Dawned on the lights to look less like a cage..
The lights on the building gave a twinkling glow, and ornaments shined putting on a show.
When what to my tired eyes should appear, | A little old man with a large book bag near.
He had a suit that was red with heavy white trim, Unbelieving I tried to clear the lense of my horn rim.
He set down presents much unlike a crook,
And once at a closer look I saw the presents were in the form of a book
the puzzle pieces flew, | Just like a flash
I knew what I saw and more importantly who.
It was Santa with his belly so big, and his smile set into a dig.
Oh what a vision I saw that night, | As he flew out the doors he was a wondrous sight.
I went to the parking lot in case I could see,
Where Santa and his reindeer just may be.
I yelled farewell as loud as I might,
And I heard Santa say "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!"
