4: The novel "The Locket" shows the struggles of one man's life. Michael is faced with disappointments and struggles that he must overcome. Michael has to take responsibility of his dieing mother, and the loss of his one true love, Faye, as she goes to medical school. He also deals with the loss of an elderly woman, whom he had grown very close to working at a nursing home. Michael was put through heartbreaks all threw out the novel, but he never quiet or gave up on life.
5: The authors point for writing this story is to show that we all go through the heartache of losing someone close to us, everyone goes through it. Everyone can deal with it in there own way, Michael deals with it, so can you, He gets a job to work with elders to help like he did with his mother.
6: Michael Keddington is an employee of Arcadia Care Facility. Michael had to drop out of college to take care of his sick mother. He is six foot tall handsome man in his early twenties. Helen Staples is the director of the nursing home. She had a nice and mean side to her. Helen has a pleasant face, with radiant red hair with large curls. Alice is the front desk worker. She is young, pretty, with dark think eyebrows, cropped sable hair and a swallow complexion. Alice falls for Michael and becomes jealous of Faye. Ester is an elderly woman who lives at the nursing home. A Beautiful woman with think silver hair, translucent skin, ride and surly at first, becomes loving and a goof friend to Michael.
7: ( Journal Here ) | Faye Murrow is Michael's girlfriend, she is a sweet beautiful, caring woman. She is a chemistry major and daughter of such Pareto. Faye's father is a tall, thick, and muscular man with dark brown hair. He is very proper and looks down upon Michael and Faye. Mr. Murrows is a very rude and unaccepting man.
8: Michael faced much conflict but the internal conflict he faced in the book was when he had to decide if he could break up with Faye so she can live her life. Michael also has to deal with the emotion after loosing his mother to cancer. Michael and Faye's fathers hatred toward each other is also hard. Michael must deal with the loss of Ester after becoming so close to her. Michael deals with his by leaving Faye alone so she can be happy. Michael moves on and keeps going on with life after his mother passes. Michael and Faye's father never settle their differences. Michael goes to Esters hometown to see the reality of the stories she told him. | The external conflict that michael goes through is when michael is being accused of abusng one of the elderly patients and must go on trial. Michael fights to get Faye back into his life, even after her father threatens him. solves this problem by going on trial and he is found not guilty of criminal homicide. Faye comes back to Michael despite her father's wishes.
10: Richard Paul Evans was born on October 11, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Cottonwood High School, and then went off to get a B.A degree from The university of Utah. He self-published his novel "The Christmas Box", which is a Christmas story for children. Three of his books became movies including "The Locket'
11: My opinion of "the Locket" was that it was a very heart wrenching story. Reading the struggles Michael went through touched my heart, because it can really happen. Most stories do not usually happen in real life but, having to go through the losses in your life is hard. It is true and that is what makes it so interesting.
