FC: TWAS The Night before Christmas, Camping Edition By: Kyle Aaron
Not the forest was stirring, not even a owl. | Twas the Night before Christmas, when all through the campsite.
The cups were hanging on the tree with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas would soon be there.
The campers were nestled all snug in their cots, While visions of fishing washed in their heads, as I just settled my brain for a long camping night.
When out on the campground there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the cot to see what was the matter
Away from the tent, I flew in a flash. I opened the the tent and I threw up the flap.
The moon on the lust of the just frozen ice gave the luster of the campsite to objects below
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature mini van and eight tiny reindeer.
With a old driver, not lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick
More rapid than wolves his couriers they came, he whistled, and shouted and called them by name!
Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, On Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the hills! To the top of the trees! Now hike away! Hike away! Hike away all!
And then, in a stomping, i heard on the ice, The tapping and skidding of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around, getting out of the car St. Nick came with a bound.
He was dressed all in parkranger's clothes, from his head to his boot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ice and dirt
A bundle of toys he had flung on his pack, And he looked like a warden just opening his pack.
His eyes- how they twinkled! His dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses , his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was white as a winter rabbit.
He was not fat nor skinny, a just a right size old elf, And I gasped when I saw him, inspire of myself!
A look in his eye and a twist of his head, Soon made me realize that I had nothing to worry.
No words came from his lips , but went straight to work, and filled the cups on the tree with goodies and sweets , then turned with a jerk. And tying up his bag aside from his boot, And giving a nod, walking back to his car he went!
He climbed into his car,to his team gave a whistle, And away they flew like the engine of a jet.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight, "Happy camping to all and to all a good night!"
