BC: The End

FC: The slave trade by Luci Kangas-Olson

Part of the reason why the Civil War even happened was because of the slaves......The civil war was between the North and the South.

The north The north was against slavery. so they were fighting the south about how to get rid of slavery. The northerns helped the runaway slaves become free. The south The south was all for slavery because slavery was there life. Thats how they picked cotton. They relied on the slaves to do the work for them

How slaves were treated. Before the civil war the slaves were sold, bought, and given as a gift. Slaves were treated how the whites wanted to treat them. So they can always be treated like and animal or they can be treated like a human instead of a slave but that is very rare.

How much slaves cost during the Civil War some examples on how much slaves were are: a healthy Negro who is about 36 is $4900 a 15 year old girl is sold for about $2000 It really varies on the person and the master...

Underground Railroad The underground railroad helped runaway slaves a lot . The underground railroad means a travel route for fugitives. It helped about 5000 to 10000 slaves become free. The underground was mainly in Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania.. Free black men or women were pretty much the ones who helped the runaway slaves.

The south and their slaves: After Eli Whitney invented the cotton Gin slavery was huge in the south. So during this point slave trade was very important because the slaves did all the picking and planting. If they would lose the slaves south would go down money wise.

The north and there slaves: The north didn't like the fact that there were slaves so they decided to be against slavery and they did there best on helping to win the war over freeing the slaves.

Runaway Slaves When a slave runs away from their master they are usually headed for the north because they can be free there . But the masters can put out a "wanted" sign telling about them. Like there age and what they look like...the punishment is very severe if they are caught. Some slaves become free because they know how to read and write so they can forge their own paper

What the slaves did during the war... slaves sill worked on the plantations until Lincoln freed them 1863 the slaves became free and some of them joined to fight the south. So the slaves were free 2 years after the war started.....

how large slaves were during the war..... slaves were pretty much the whole reason the civil war started. The North and the South had two totally different sides of view of slaves. As i explained before the south wanted slaves because they needed people to work on their plantations and the north hated the fact that the slaves were treated like animals so they fought. And this includes the civil war.

Who benefited from the slaves... The south did because they needed them more for the Plantations and picking cotton Well if the south benefited from the slaves than the north didn't because they didn't need them.

If the slaves weren't around during the civil war... They might not have the civil war because slaves were sort of the reason the war started but of course there would be another reason to start the war..there was the other reason of claiming land and the south wanted to become its own...

Would this life be different without slaves... I believe the answer is yes because slaves were the main reason they started the civil war but i still think there would be a war..as i explained before the other reasons are that the south wanted to be its own and the north and the south were fighting about land.

After the civil war.... As you know Lincoln freed the slaves during the war so they fought with the North... THE CIVIL WAR ENDED.... But that didn't really change for the slaves they were still treated like they were before.

Is slavery sill around today... Yes, slavery is still around today whether its called human trafficking, bonding labor, forced labor, or sex trafficking, it is Present Worldwide including United States.... ------------>

An estimated 12-27 million people are caught in one or another form of slavery..... Nearly three out of four victims are women....half of modern days slaves are children.....
