FC: Einstein | "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel By: Monica Redondo | Davy Crockett | Elvis Presley | James Dean | Disneyland

1: Introduction | In our Social Studies class we are analyzing the song "We Didnt Start the Fire" by Billy Joel. Each student had to analyze five words, I had to analyze the words, James Dean, Einstein, Disneyland,Elvis Presley and Davy Crockett.

2: Albert Einstein

3: Albert Einstein was born in Germany. His parents raised him as a Jew and strongly defended religion and race. As a child Einstein wasnt either good in math or science, he had problems with reading and writting and teachers and adults said he wouldnt aspire to much in his life. Apparently they were wrong, Albert Einstein grew and became one of the most famous scientists of the twentieth century. His name and image represent genius and intellectual. One of his famous theories and the one by he became famous is the theory of relativity. This theory consists in that the relation of energy and mass is a result of space and time. His interest in science began at the age of sixteen when he wrote his first science essay; the compass also inspired him to become a mathematician.

4: Elvis Preseley

5: Elvis Presley was a really famous singer in the era of Rock nRoll; he was called the “King of Rock and Roll”. He was born in Tupelo, Missisipi in January 1935. His life was really hard he came from a pour family, and at the age of 9 he received a guitar, that is when he started feeling devotion for music and started playing the guitar and singing at school. He devoted his life to singing and playing the guitar. He married Priscilla Beaulieu and then they had a daughter called Liza Marie. People recognized him by his flashy clothes and his hair, he always stood up; he was different. I think he was mentioned in this song because as I said before he stood up, he was different and I think someone like this in the mid 50s really changed people minds. I also think he was mentioned because he was the King of Rock and Roll because of his great songs. He was also mentioned because his songs were still famous after his death.

6: James Dean

7: James Dean was born February 8th, 1931 and hi was son of a dental technician and his mom was daughter of a farmer, a very humild family. He studied at the University of Santa Monica city College, California were he studied pre- law, but after he majored in drama before going to New York. James Dean became a famous actor of the mid 50s he acted in some movies and he was nominated two times for the Academy Awards . James Deans career started in Broadway and then he became more important and started acting in movies, after he became a screen actor. He also acted in some television shows. After performing as a screen actor his dream was to become a director, after he directed one film. James Dean was one of he most spectacular screen actors in that time and being mentioned in this song makes us remember him.

8: Disneyland

9: Disneyland is a theme park Anaheim, California. Walt Disneys productors became with the idea of doing a theme park with attractions of the TV shows and movies that Walt Disney produced. This park is also based on the characters of Walt Disney, mainly Mickey Mouse. "Disneyland, the happiest place on Earth" or "Were dreams come true". Throughout the years many people had names this park like this and this park is a place were you can spend time with your family and have a wonderful time. When This park was opened for the first time, in the mid 60s it was an impact for many people and soon became on one pf the biggest theme parks in the world. After other Disneyland theme parks were created all over the world.This park was an impact of the mid 60s.

10: Davy Crockett

11: Davy (David) Crockett is best known as a politician and folk hero of Tennesse. His was born August 17, 1786 in Grence Country, Tennesse. Davy Corckett was a charismatic figure in Tennesse and soon became a national hero when he joined a group of people fighting for the expansion of Texas. He did a lot for his country and his stories of heroism soon spread out all around the world in the 18th century. He was also a frontisman, he defended his country and fought for the good of it. As a politician Davy Crockett served two terms in the state legislature and he also had a place in the Representative House of the United States. He had a TV show called Fess Parker and was a production of Disney series. He was killed at the Alamo by Mexican Forces led by Santa Ana in March 6, 1836. Since then his country remembers him as a national hero.
