FC: You Wouldn't want to sail with Ferdinand Magellan
Introduction. | Farewell! Good luck!! Cries the crowd of a port in Spain. I am Magellan a man born to sea and a grand ship to sail the world! I am leaving Spain and setting off to find a strait John of Lisbon described to me some time ago. Therefore, I was inspired by the adventurous, mind spinning tale of how he sailed down the coast of Brazil fighting the mutiny and hunger. He had said he had found waters that he believes is a strait. It only took a moment for me to decide whether to pursue my goal and find the spice islands or new land but I could find the strait and most likely new land. By doing this I could become rich and be known as a brave explorer or even the Sea legend!
Me? Challenges? Come on . . . . .Well I . . . . uhhhhhh. . . . .kinda. . . we sort of. . . .had some . . . Okay fine you win. We did face challenges but we overcame them. Oh and here's what we had trouble with. I had been sailing with my crew on five ships and they started to get all feisty like angry kittens wanting to peel your face off. I realized that I was facing a mutiny!!!!!!! I panicked that night while I heard voices and footsteps near my cabin and all of a sudden they come barging in and I yell were goin to the coast!!!! They put their pistils away and leave silently. The next morning I see some of my crew wresting for an orange. I shout Just get another one! They stop and point to the food barrel. I look and see half eaten oranges with mold that has been peed on, bitten, and germy with disease. All of a sudden a cry called out There is strait ahead! and everybody stopped fighting and went back to doing their jobs and looking with excitement toward the strait. All I could see is tall grand cliffs that once inside no turning back, you half to go through the maze. | What challenges did Magellan have to overcome?
You know we talked about Mutiny. . . you guessed it it happened again. . . . Yeah Im not kidding. However, all the men where exited and wanted to sail into the strait and come back and live the life of what you people in America call a millionaire or billionare. Therefore, we sailed into the strait and some of the sailors immediately wanted to turn back and return to Espana. CRASH!! huge rocks fell from the jagged cliff side falling just inches from our ship and ripped off some of our sails! When the crew saw this they grabbed spears, guns, and a huge knife they had on their belts. My crew of five grabbed swords and defended me. A huge fight erupted and me and my first mate went and grabbed guns. I got two pistils and my first mate got a rifle and together we charged the enemy with such accurate shots we killed four men. They eventually gave up and made an oath to not mutiny. This voyage will become much more dangerous and I have a feeling that the sailors will not keep their oath. | What occurred on one of the ships?
This grand strait I have found is for sure named after the grand Sea Legend Magellan that is of course me. I have found this strait on account of pure inspiration and the following my dream. I am a pure explorer and was born to a ship to explore and find new lands. I was the one who found it and explored it. The strait was narrow and long and the tall gloomy black cliffs loomed over us as we slowly and cautiously sailed through the maze. We kept sailing and you know about the mutiny but the rest of the way we felt as if we were being followed or watched by spirits or gods. It was dark and dead quiet as an underwater grave. As we kept sailing along I realized that we had been sailing for four weeks and havent got out of the strait. I did not give up until the end and I named the strait after myself. | Why was the strait named after Magellan?
Overall I think this voyage successful because I discovered a strait that lead to the the Spice Islands and I circumnavigated the planet. I Magellan am a brave explorer and I say I am the bravest explorer of all time and that was the first one to circumnavigate the world. Never ever ever sail the world on a old rickety piece of wood like my ship, sail on your modern day ship to be safe. I say You Wouldnt Want to Sail with Magellan and his crew, Jagged straits youd rather not sail. | Conclusion.
