S: Nabeela's Bridal Shower - Summer 2011

Dearest Nabeela, We are so happy for you and Bijhan. We hope that your journey together is just as we all are in these two photos: smiling faces, shining wide open eyes (except for Aysha's!), arms linked together and feet stepping forward . . . may your future be bright, colourful and filled with love! Love, Your Cousins

As I sat down to write this I felt overwhelmed. How do I tell my sister what she really means to me. We have shared a strong bond since I can remember. I remember all the crazy and creative games we would play. Remember how we would pretend to skate across our living room using cooking pot lids, and also how we would pretend to be teachers with all our reading novels as our students. The most fond memory I have of us is when I made you climb the ladder to retrieve the ball we were playing with and how you accidently knocked over the paint can that splattered all over you and I. I still laugh at that memory. Most importantly I remember the moments you stood by me when I needed you the most. You taught me to stand up for myself, to not be afraid to face the world and live life for every moment. But there is one gift you have given me that I will never forget and that is the courage to fight for love. Thank you. I want you to know that you mean more to me than I can ever have the words to tell you with. As you begin your life as a married woman, remember that I am right there beside you. I will always be there to support you, guide you, listen to you and care for you. I pray that your future with Bijhan is filled with limitless love and happiness and everything good you deserve. Love , Farrah

Congratulations Nabeela! On the beginning of a beautiful forever! Some things are simply meant to be, like finding your soul mate, your heart's destiny. I am truly happy that you have found your soul mate. Unfortunately I can’t give you any marriage advice, but I will be turning to you when my time comes! I wish you all the best as you start the next chapter of your life . . . Love, Aysha

Dearest Nabeela, I still remember fondly the first time I laid eyes on you. It was your first visit to Canada and you were a precocious two or three year old. Of course, I remember exactly what you and Farrah, dressed as twins, were wearing: little white crisp cotton shirts and blue short overalls with red trim! Even more memorable than the style you were sporting was your personality. You had a sincere honesty and spoke your mind with a touch of humour as you told us about your, “nana nana dekha”! You had a sense of adventure with no fear as you skipped hand in hand with my dad over the suspension bridge. You had a curious mind as you crouched down like a little frog, examining the ground. I admired these traits then and as I’ve watched you grow over the years into the beautiful woman you are today, I’m happy to still see the essence of who you were as a child has not disappeared; it has matured and become stronger. You are our stylish, playful, honest, adventurous, fearless and curious Nabeela! I’m so happy that you’ve finally found your prince! I wish for you and Bijhan a lifetime of love and understanding that grows with each day. May your wedding be everything you’ve dreamed of and may your marriage be even better! Love, Shainin

Dear Nabeela, I’m so happy for you! You’ve got a big heart. Keep it filled with happiness. You’ve got a fascinating mind. Keep finding new ways to grow. Keep yearning. Keep learning. Keep trying. Keep smiling. And keep remembering that love goes with you.. Everywhere you go. You are more than a cousin to me, you are My Sister. Wishing you a wonderful beginning, and love to last a lifetime! Best Wishes on Your New Journey in Life! Love, Hafi

So, Nabeela, you know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up, one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is its hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely cause almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true. For me, I believe you found your prince charming, your night in shining armour! And the only piece of advice I can give you is to enjoy every moment! Don't dwell on the little things, look at the big picture and realize that you are happy and your wedding night is only the beginning of the rest of your life. In the words of a famous character on Greys Anatomy, "You never know the biggest day of your life is going to be the biggest. The days you think are going to be big ones, they are never as big as you make them out to be in your head. It’s the regular days, the ones that start out normal. Those are the days that end up being the biggest" Your wedding day is a big day for you, but its the days that lead up to that big day that truly count! Wishing you all the best Nabeela! Love you, Tash

Nabeela, it has been said the marriage is a matter of give and take. I cannot believe you have found someone that will take what you have to give! haha I have always known that Bijhan is the kind of man who deserves a good wifewell, It’s a good thing you married him before he found one! Seriously, I could not be happier for you both. And although I do not know all the secrets of a perfect marriage, I do know a perfect couple when I see one. And I see two people whose happiness is wrapped up in one another. You are both always more concerned with giving joy Then taking it for yourself | Now, remember the vows you will be making. If you live them every day, you will know a happy marriage. Your work does not end there! ...it is only just beginning. It is okay to fall in love over and over, just be sure it is always with Bijhan! haha Soon enough, your life with Bijhan will joined in one unbroken circle, just like the ring you now wear .Congratulations! Love, Aliza
