BC: The End | That's the great thing about tractors, You Really Can't hear The Phone Ring!

FC: The most important work you and I will ever do will be within the walls of our own homes Harold B. Lee (1899-1973) | HOME SWEET HOME

Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. CathyAllen | Tom and I started the sale of the house in Canby in April and it finalized in May of 2009

BEFORE | This was previous to the major remodeling of the house

The original siding was still on the house and preserved. The original siding was milled off the land and put on the house.

The outside before the remodel | To the left is the southern side of the house near the pump house. Below: is the front of the house, One of the trees was taken out and most of the rhodies survived the wrath of Tom. The very bottom Picture is the barn and covered area, two of those trees came out.

THE CLEAN UP Tom has worked so hard and cleaned up the farm so much. He took in many loads of scrap metal.

 Toms Scrap Loads

Big Blue is at it again

Tom took 3 weeks off work to take the house down to studs and then build it back up with new insulation, windows, and many other additions. I was the gopher during that time I swear the guys at Home Depot knew me by name, and everything that was going on in our lives. Tom, Emma and I lived at the apartment at Jon and Jen's for a little while till the house became livable. | Itchy Itchy Insulation taken from the walls and ceiling

This was found in the walls when they were taken apart, it was originally used for insulation. It was amazing how well the newspapers were preserved GO CAPITAL PRESS

There were all sorts of interesting things that we found while tearing into the house.

Everyone helped . Above is Spencer tearing up the floor in the hallway. Upper right hand corner is Justin in Emma's room,. Lower right hand is Chris, getting the last little flooring out from underneath the wall.

Tom putting new windows in the house. A lot of times he had to use the little chainsaw to carve out enough space for the windows. He also tied to take off the wood paneling to salvage it and use it elswhere. It was all paneling that was milled off the land.

Careful with that...get all the nails off! We have to put that back up.

All things grow better with love.

Tom under the house through a hole in the living room floor, net the front and last our resident bat.

We are looking at Emma's Room and our room right now in this picture

Tom destructing another wall in Emma's room.

This was the side with the most damage to the walls as far as dry rot.

Tom making a bigger area for a new window. the whole house needed new insulation.

We had to take it all down to studs and back up...all of the floor and sub-flooring had to be taken up and replaced. The flooring was so hard to get up even with an air hammer.

All of the windows were changed out and new windows were put in.

Bathroom and Emma's room had to be taken down to studs

This is what the wall and plumbing looks like in the bathroom neares to the bedrooms.

Everything had to come out and the whole bathroom had to be re-sheet rocked and sealed.

Eucylyptus Green Bathroom is still in the works.

This is what the living room looked like before the deconstruction There was a little stove and a hall closet. Blue carpet, which didn't smell the greatest, needless to say we took everything out including the closet and started from scratch

The process in the lving room begins.

 The New Fireplace area.

 Tom's Great Vision

This is the start of the beautiful fireplace

At first it was only suppose to be this with one little alcove,

 Finished but Just not yet.

It didn't quit look right so Tom had the mason build another one on the other side.

THE GREAT DIG OF 2009 | The septic line wasn't exactly right so Clint, John and Tom put in a whole new system in a weekend. What amazing men!

LOOK AT THOSE SEXY MEN!!!! | A man and his Deere

Those men did an amazing job in a very short amount of time. Very Lucky to have family and friends like that. | THE BIG DIG OF 2009

 How the stairs were.....

 How the stairs are........

The picture to the left is from under the stairs into the bathroom. The picture in the upper left hand corner is the stairs with just the doors off. Now all of that shelving is taken out and it is an open area where I can walk into it. | These are pictures before the stair remodel. The stairs were too narrow for Tom to get his feet on and very steep. Above is from the bathroom looking into the area underneath the stairs

In the kitchen. The walls had three layers of paint on them, beneath a layer of wood type of laminate. It took many layers of zip strip and sanding. It was so hard to get into the grooves.

The back bathroom, we started gutting it and decided that to move in we needed one bathroom to still work. This is the next project to be done. | A KINGS CHAIR | BIG HOLE OF DEATH

 Emma's Room

Emma wanted her room to be Tinkerbell. So all of her grandma's took a part in making her room the magical fairy room with the two colors and border and the glow in the dark stars. Along with the stenciling of bugs and butterflies.
