BC: The End

FC: 2011 | Our Family

I think if I had to sum up 2011 for our family I'd say we were blessed. Even through all the stress, and at times complete chaos, that come with having four very close in age children, I can't help but look back and think how did I get so lucky.

One of the deciding factors for us in buying our house was the neighborhood. Every time we came to look at the house there were always kids out playing. We could not have picked a better place to live in terms of friends. We are surrounded by great families with kids of the same age. It has been so great to be able to send the kids next door or just down the street and know they are safe and have good friends to play with.

Back: Evan, Caden, Jenna, Richard, Devin, Peter Front:Wesley, Sophia, Audrey, Cade, Kyle, Marie

We hosted a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Luke was not so sure about the whole hunt, he was more interested in eating the candy. He would find an egg, open it, eat all the candy, and then go find another egg. It was a good egg hunt!

This year Sean got a fancy camera and has been tinkering around with photography. Sophia is a very willing model. Here she is in her Easter dress. We love our pretty in pink girl!

Every spring, usually around Sean's birthday, we like to take a trip to the zoo. This year the weather was great, and we all had a great time!

 Happy Birthday Dad!

On Sean's birthday we actually went to Konrad's birthday party. It was the kids first time at a skating rink so we had a lot of fun! We had a taco lunch and Coldstone cake to honor Sean on his day, then off to the party we went. Sophia collided with a fast skater and was out for a bit. But she recovered fine and in all I think everyone enjoyed themselves! | Disco Skate Party

Sophia's end of the year program

Active Learning Preschool with Miss. Karen & Miss Amy

Schools out for Summer! Caden's kindergarten graduation

Our kids love carnival rides. Orem city has an annual carnival where all the kids rides are just one ticket, we try not to miss it!

Caden and Sophia sharing their enthusiasm for roller coasters | Luke and mom enjoying the sun.

Caden is obsessed with the Wii. This year his favorite game was Monkey Ball Banana Blitz. We created games to fit with the video game. One thing Caden wanted to do was fight what he calls the "boss". There are weird creatures you must defeat to pass a world. The highlight was when the "boss" (a.k.a dad) came out and the kids attacked him with balls. They had a blast. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture, it was classic. | Party Time

 FUN

This summer the Woolston's invited us, and three other families, up to their cabin. The kids loved their first sleepover, the adults enjoyed staying up late and playing games. It was beautiful to be in nature. Maleina decided camping with a bed is the way to go! These pictures are from a hike we went on to an old abandoned mine. It was good times for all.

This year we had a neighborhood barbecue and then enjoyed the fireworks. Luke was fascinated with the fireworks and even held his very own sparkler! Sophia was proud that this year she was not afraid to hold the sparkler all by herself!

This year for Maleina's birthday we went bowling with Aunt Emma and Uncle Lyndon. Afterwards we went to their house for cake and ice cream.

 Provo Canyon

family | When Papa was visiting we headed up Provo Canyon for a picnic dinner at Nuns Park. The kids loved throwing rocks in the river. We enjoyed good food, great company, and the beautiful fall dusk, not to hot, not to cold. As a side note later that night we discovered Caden had broken his arm, poor boy! He was a champ though. | FUN

Caden is in the first grade! His teacher is Mrs. Blackhurst. He is reading well, picking up on math and loving school. Sophia is doing her second year at Active Learning Preschool. She is doing well, but she is a disappointed that she is not in kindergarten just yet.

 Luke is 2!

October 1st 2011 | Luke had a sports themed birthday this year. He loves anything to do with balls. We had all the family over and ate his favorite food, tacos. We even had a basketball piñata filled with balls! He knew it was his special day and enjoyed all the extra attention. We love you Luke!

This year Papa came to visit! He doesn't get to come often so it was a special treat. Halloween is Caden's favorite holiday so Papa helped him make a spooktacular display for our front door. We also went to the Red Barn where we took the hayride out to pick our very own pumpkins from the patch. Afterward we had ice cream and delicious apple cider doughnuts!

Caden was a pirate, Sophia tinkerbell, for her school party, and a princess for trick or treating. Luke was Buzz Lightyear. It was Luke's first year of trick or treating, he loved it.

 Bride getting ready photos

 Eden Marie Paxman | Born November 3rd 2011~ Orem UT | 1:47pm ~7bs ~ 3oz ~ 19in | ............................................

We woke up full of anticipation. Excited, a little nervous, and very ready to hold our new baby. After what seemed to Maleina a long labor, we could not have been happier, and you could not have been more beautiful. November third 2011 a day our family was blessed.

We had a lot to be thankful for this year. Sean has a great job, we have a home in a great neighborhood, with good friends close by, and of course we welcomed a healthy new baby to our family. We were also blessed to have Nana come and help with Eden. Since Nana was here we hosted Thanksgiving at our house, lots of good food, and great company, it doesn't get any better!

 Steps Dance 2012 Christmas recital

This year is Sophia's first year of dance. We thought she might be nervous up on the big stage with the bright lights and all the people. Boy were we wrong, she loved it! She ran on stage so excited, mom and dad could not have been prouder!

Every Christmas morning we take a picture of the kids before they come downstairs. This year we had to wake the babies as you can see one didn't even wake up, and the other refused to be in the picture without his dad!

It does not get much better then watching your children's excitement Christmas morning! Caden finally got Super Mario Brothers Wii. Sophia was in heaven with her Disney princesses, and Strawberry Shortcake house. Luke would get so excited about each gift, he'd play with it like it was his favorite thing in the world. Then he would open his next gift, leave the last one and act like the next one was the best thing ever. We called him our equal opportunity gift lover!

Sophia Noel is 5! | This year we had a hello kitty party. The girls colored, played games, decorated cookies, and hit a pinata of course! There was plenty of pink and lots of giggly little girls. It was a great party I think even her brothers enjoyed it!

three months | three hours | three days | three weeks

new sister | Eden Marie | Going from three to four has been a challenge! But, as with all challenges, it brings growth and renewed strength to our family. The kids love their new sister so much. You can't look at her and not melt. Our family is complete.

Eden is lucky enough to have a girl cousin her age on both sides of the family. Cousin Naomi was born just two months before her and cousin Ava was born the day after her. Ava is a little far in Arizona but Naomi lives close enough that they get together a lot more often. I love that she has built in family friends. Here is to sister cousins!
