S: Bennon Family Yearbook 2009

FC: Bennon Family Yearbook 2009

Every year we hope to make an annual memory book to capture the major events that happened throughout the year. This year's book is dedicated to Guenhwyvar "Boy Boy" Bennon who passed away of kidney failure late in the year. He is missed. Love Always, Trish & Sean Bennon

 January | A Washingtonian Snowman!

January brought snow and very tiny snowmen to the Bennon household. January 1st also marked Sasha's 5th birthday! Can you say "snow day doggie!"

In February, the USS Alabama participated in a Demonstration and Shakedown Operation (DASO) whereby they fire a test missle. I was lucky enought to be able to watch the missle be fired from a support ship. I didn't get to see Sean at all, but it was amazing to see him "work"!!! This missle was the 7th that Sean has participated in firing over the course of his career.

March 7 Silver & Gold Dolphin Auction "Sports" | Jena and Gavin (CHOP) Aldridge

This was the first "Silver and Gold Dolphin Auction" Sean and I attended. It was a total blast! Being that Sean was stationed aboard the USS Alabama, picking our "sports team" was a no brainer...go team BAMA! We bought a "Beer of the Month" package from Silver City, a "Chief Basket" and a car wash basket..I know..shock and awe there! "ROLL TIDE" | Todd and Allison Massida (CO)

April 4 Sean had the Sonar Division over for a BBQ and they had a lot of fun! Although, I'm not sure letting a bunch of sailors play with chain mail and swords was the best of ideas... After they were done with the sword play, it was time for some serious Rock Band thrashing!

April 24 Steve Browne hosted an "80's Party" and Sean was more than happy to break out the Queensryche shirt. Hrm..but doesn't he wear that everyday???

June 4 - E3 Expo San Diego, CA | Sitting down for an interview with the folks from Disney Interactive

One of the biggest perks of working for the video game industry (IGN Entertainment and then Stratics Network) was the opportunity to attend industry events such as E3 in San Diego, CA. I conducted a few inteviews and played a lot of games before they hit the shelves. Fun times! | Those crazy German developers at Frogster (Runes of Magic)

July/August In August, Sean's parents came to visit for a week to surprise Sean's sister, Michele, for her birthday. We had a BBQ at the Blake Pond Property, Toured Seattle and had some homemade wine!

As our anniversary was coming up next month (September 11) where we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary...Sean gave me two choices: Option #1 | Option #2 Take a guess at which one I chose! LOL

September 9 - 12 Trip to Michigan For our 10 year anniversary, Sean and I traveled back home to Ishpeming, Michigan. One of the things that wa saw first was an impounded Russian Bomber that apparently was being flown by illegals and had outstanding fuel bills in Texas. Sean and I also made the trip memorable by having Sean's sister, Charity renew our vows. It was so beautiful..and so happy he said yes again!!!!!

Taking a break from the normal hangout of Congress Pizza..we all headed out to the Lodge for some good BBQ! | Hrm...what to have? | I think I'm gonna just steal what you order... | Look at that beard!

Can't have a trip back home without heading to Presque Isle and the shores of Lake Superior. I think Sean is testing to see if the water is still....that cold!

Sometimes, it's hard to look out over Lake Superior and realize it's a lake...reminds me so much of the ocean!

Year in Review Wow..what a year! We started out the year with some snow and then moved into Sean deploying on the USS Alabama. I traveled to San Diego, visited friends, and finished my Bachelors Degree in Professional Communication (3.85 gpa baby!) We traveled home to Michigan, celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and lost a beloved pet. If the measure of a good year is when the laughter drowns out the tears, then 2009 was certainly a good year for the Bennons. Here's to an incredible 2010!!!!
