 Cali

Friends Make Every Day A Party

Kansas City | We finally made it to Kansas!! It was a very long 18 hour trek but when we made it into Kansas City it was beautiful. It's surprisingly very green here and the weather is nice, usually in the upper seventy's and sunny. We live in a town-home in overland park and our neighborhood surrounds a mini lake with a half mile walking path... VERY relaxing! Cali of course loves it here because there are tons of geese to chase and dogs to play with around the lake. I started a goal to go walking every day three times a day for at least twenty minutes and I'm feeling great!!

Liberty | We live about twenty minutes from Independence Missouri so we decided to go do a church history tour which was awesome. I highly recommend doing that if your ever in the Midwest. We started off going to the visitors center to see the big church history tour, and took pictures on the temple lot and in front of the reorganized church's temple... really strange looking building, then we ventured off to the liberty jail and walked on the same floor where Joseph Smith had actually lived all winter long on. We are loving it here and enjoying this new neighborhood. Josh is working hard and has found a lot of success here, he has sold more here than he ever has in the first week, should be a good summer!

Its been one amazing weekend for us, not only did we celebrate the 4th but also (because of Josh's obsession with fire) we celebrated the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th with multiple rounds of fireworks, and this time Josh made sure to take advantage of the fact that Kansas sells the biggest and LOUDEST fireworks ever for dirt cheap. Were talkin Disneyland size... well almost. On the 3rd a group of us went to Jose Peppers for dinner, if you haven't been there yet and you live in the good ole state of Kansas.. GO! It's delicious, After we drove to Kansas city because fireworks are legal there and decided to have our own lil show. The boys thought it would be funny to light off stuff in trash cans and porta potties... not a good idea if you wanna be safe.. but hilarious. One of the guys accidentally knocked over the big kind that launches up in the air and it shot out straight at us! I ran for my life. Fortunately no one got hurt. We were all dying laughing. FUN night.

4th of July | On the 4th we had a big BBQ after church with everyone from elite and then some of us went to the visitors center in Independence, and had a lil spiritual moment, after we blew up more fireworks and about ten minutes before the big show was supposed to start it poured, cats and dogs :/ We went home and ran in the rain. another FUN night. We enjoyed every bit of this holiday and cant wait for next year. We are so happy to be living in this great nation and to enjoy the freedoms that come with being an American. God bless the USA!

We did it!! Emily Julie and I decided to run the kansas city hospital hill run today. I ran the 5K and Em and Julie ran the 10K. It was SOO fun, we were havin a blast, it was a killer race on your legs though with lots and lots of hills but we made it to the finish line and Emily and I both met our goal time. Julie was awesome enough to be our lil picture taker and ended up kickin some butt in the race! it was pretty hilarious to see her cross the finish line with bags, cameras and all at good timing when she wasnt even planning on running it at all. love her. Im so glad emily talked me into runnin the race... way worth it. It was a beautiful cool morning so we decided to stick around and take some fun pics. New goal: run a 10K in the next month. I am lovin every bit of this this summer in kck!

 5K

Adam lost his wedding ring, kinda freaked us out and sent us on a mad search...found it! well some random lady in the park found it, pretty amazing how nice the people are here. They will do anything to lend a hand, even if it means getting mud everywhere.

When it rains in Kansas, it pours, and after it pours and the sun comes out, There is nothin but mud and huge puddles everywhere. Josh and I decided to make something out of it instead of sittin inside and doing absolutely nothing we headed to the park and started a mud fight with some friends. Best idea yet. | Midwest Storms

On Saturday we went camping and four wheeling with our good friends Charlie and Taina... we had the worst of luck with the four wheelers to say the least... we got stuck in two feet of mud and then got their truck stuck trying to get the four wheeler out! BUT It ended up being pretty hilarious, and really fun. Camping was a blast, I love love making s'mores and hot dogs over a fire and snuggling up in blankets watching the stars.

At the last minute we piled in the car and decided to road trip down to Nauvoo this weekend. We drove down Saturday and made it just in time for the famous pageant. Which happened to be the last pageant of the year! We had a great time that night other than the fact that we were all eaten ALIVE by bugs and we had to drive almost an hour away to find a hotel that wasn't booked. The one hotel that had vacancy's was pretty disturbing. We piled into smoke filled rooms with bug catchers hanging from the sealing. lovely. Despite our interesting hotel experience we managed to have a great trip, visiting the historic temple and sites in Nauvoo and ending up at Carthage jail. It was a spiritual experience we will never forget. This is a once in a life time trip that everyone needs to go on! Nauvoo truly is beautiful.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY | The Summer has come to an end :( it was a great summer for us to say the least. We really enjoyed our time in good ole Overland Park Kansas, but we were really excited to get on the road and have a week of fun in the Sun at my parents house in Orange county. The night before we left we went to the JACK JOHNSON concert!! Josh surprised me with tickets for my birthday and I was sooo excited, I have been wanting to go to his concert for years. It was amazing, best concert I have ever been to.

The next day we made the long 28 hour trek there in a day and a half, it was a miserable drive with one flat tire and two migraines, But we made it just in time to suprise my little brother. We had a blast going to the beach just about every day, going out with friends, getting pedicures, going to an angels game and just enjoying my family. I love you MOM and DAD! Thank you SO much for everything you do and for the fun times last week, and Colby thanks for going Skimboarding with Josh almost everyday you really made his week awesome!! | 21

 Ocean Beach | Skimboarding

On Monday Josh had a Hockey game. He's playing in a Men's league with his buddy Adam. They played great! A little rusty but they are having a lot of fun and I'm really glad he gets to do this in the off season. His team won 9-1. I had a blast cheering them on with Jenny. Our men looked pretty darn sexy in those hockey giddups! | HOCKEY

This weekend Josh and I spent the night on cold cement with blankets and pillows in the long line so that we could get one of the very few permits to hike the famous subways in Zion's national park on Labor day. It was a 10 mile hike up a beautiful river between two huge | ZIONS

peeks to get to the tunnels and pools known as the "subways." We hiked for 7 hours all together, running into tons of frogs, snakes, and bugs... it was tough but when we got to the waterfalls and pools it was SOO worth it! If your ever in St. George you gotta go on this hike its absolutely beautiful! | ZIONS

Josh and I hopped in the car with Craig and Patricia to make a quick trip down to Monticello and Moab this weekend. | We had fun hanging out at Grandma Codner's house and helping her with little projects while she made us yummy homemade food. | MO

We also got to go to Moab just the two of us and hike up to a water hole, take pictures at the famous dead horse point and the Wilson's arch, and play on a huge sand hill with Cali. | Then before we knew it, it was time to get back in the car and head home, we were having too much fun and were bummed to leave and get back to reality, but hopefully we will be able to go back in a month. Thanks for letting us tag along Craig and Patricia!! | AB

We headed out to Utah lake today with our buddies Charlie and Taina to get some tubing and wake boarding in. We had a blast to say the least. The weather was perfect and the water refreshing. We tubed and boarded for hours and worked on some sweet tan lines. Now we cant wait to go again before the snow comes! Its good to be back home. | Pumpin ourselves up to get in the cool water | ha ha I love how impossible it is to take a picture while the boat is going full speed Love you Taina! | The side effects from tubing and wakeboarding too long and fast.... sore hands and shins | Utah Lake Boating

I got to wakeboard! I was so excited, and I finally learned how to go outside the wake... I know thats nothing for all you wake boarders but my family knows it's a big one for me!

Trick or Treat | Josh and I got to go to nightmare on 13th haunted house this weekend with our good friends Kayla, Sam, Carly, John, Adam and Jenny. We had a ton of fun going through and laughed A LOT. We went to Juicy berry after, my fav now!! If you go there get the pumpkin cake yogurt it is delish. We had soo much fun talking and hanging out till midnight with everyone. On Saturday Taina and I made a haunted alley at thier house... it was a success everyone was talkin it up at church the next day and we are thinkin this will be a fun tradition to start! The glow stickman costume was a hit. I wasn't too thrilled to wear a bloody costume in the alley but it was fun to scare everyone.
