S: Elder Family Year in Review 2010

BC: 2010

2010 was full of vacations and construction projects! | Clockwise from top: Italy, Seacrest Beach, Smokey Mountains, screened porch project, Williamsburg

We had enough snow this year for lots of snowballs and sledding! | Let it SNOW! | Sledding down rocks was fun!

MAKING MEMORIES | Who needs a sled?! | FEBRUARY

Colonial Williamsburg Jamestown Yorktown | We were a crowd wherever we went!

Virginia | Our big adventure this year was going to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown with the Grauleys in February. It fit in well with our history studies. The kids learned a lot as well as had fun! Of course, staying at the Great Wolf Lodge was a bonus. We also got to visit good friends, the Bowmans and the Millers. | Colonial kids: James, Malcolm, Grace, Grant (who didn't like to dress up!), Lane, Rose, Margaret Anne, Nina, & Amy Brooke

LANE | Lane entered 6th grade this year and turned 11 years old! She continues to play the piano and swim on the swim team. The highlight of her year was entering a sewing fashion show in the spring. She modeled the outfit she made with the help of her sewing teacher, Mrs. Oliver.

At this year's party, Lane took her friends to the Laser Show. Pictured below: Amy Brooke, Hannah M., Hannah F., Nina, Becky, Karina, Lane, & Mimi | New bike!

GRACE | Grace turned 9 this year and started 4th grade. She still enjoys ballet and did very well in her first piano recital. She also had a great year on the swim team (breast stroke was her specialty). She finally grew in that front tooth this year! (notice the ballet and piano pictures in the spring and her school picture in August).

Lime green... It's the prettiest I've ever seen. It's the color of recycling, Oh, I love lime green! | Grace is obsessed with green this year...thus the "Lime Green" birthday party | Lauren, McKenzie, Grace, Casey, Isabel, Clara (Lane and Hannah) | The Just Dance Wii game was the hit of the party!

ROSE | This year's birthday party was a "Monkey Party" at Monkey Joe's. Rose and Grant planned the entire party months before! | Friends Cate F., Kate W., Anna, and Nola | First Grade!

Rose had a big year this year! She graduated from kindergarten, she started swimming on the swim team, and she learned how to ride a bike. She also continued enjoying ballet and just being her normal happy, talkative self!

GRANT | Grant's monkey friends: James, Evan, Matthew, Kellen, Carson, Austin | First Grader! | Showing new Bible to Hillypop

Grant had a busy year...he "graduated" from kindergarten and started 1st grade. He turned 6 years old and started swim team. He also continued to play soccer in the spring and the fall. | Kindergarten Explorers: Grant, Nola, Rose, Matthew, and Kellen | When Grant started swim team, he couldn't swim across the the end of the season, he was swimming in the big meets!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION | It all broken | (June)

Finally finished! (December) | started with a window pane...

Camp CousinFun this year had a space theme. We spent a lot of time at Fernbank gazing at stars, watching the planetarium show, launching rockets, learning about planets, going on a space exhibition, watching Star Wars (1st time for Elder kids!), crafting flying saucers and comets, and just having fun together!

Our final activity was an alien ball where we designed our own alien costumes and danced to space themed music (think "Planet Claire, "All Star", & "Moondance").

Fall Happenings | 1st Day of School | first hot air balloon ride | (Inaugural year of ACE)

Halloween on Gleneagles Lane | NEACH Fall Festival | pirate, green-eyed monster, dum-dum (with her friend smartie pants), and butterfly

We spent another Thanksgiving at Seacrest Beach this year. Gramma J and Hillypop joined us. The Walkers joined us after Thanksgiving.

 J O Y

Christmas | Our new church, Mosaic Fellowship, had it's first gathering for Christmas...a nativity Party where all the kids dressed up and we sang Christmas carols. | The hit Wii game this year was Just Dance... it was funny to see the adults get in on the action! | Carter cousins

Elder cousins | It actually snowed on Christmas night! The next day, there was enough snow for snowballs.

We are blessed! Rose and Grant are growing up (and Lane and Grace!),Gramma G.G. turned 90 and we got to celebrate with her... | ...the kids played at the beach and Scott and Stacy celebrated 15 years of marriage in Italy. | life is good!

We have many friends... from the Farnsworths next door... | the Bowmans far away in Virginia. | Rose and Grant enjoy books (maybe not reading them, but playing with them!), Sandy turned 50, and we continue to hang out with our refugee friends. | God is good!
