S: A Diamond Anniversary Celebration
BC: Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary | Mr. and Mrs. Swenda
FC: December 22, 1951
1: As we reflect on the pictures in this book, the Tree of Life comes to mind. This Tree, despite winters that challenged survival, has flourished. The memories are as countless as the leaves that welcomed Spring and changed to magnificent colors in Autumn. The tree began as a seedling, nourished by family and friends, when two young lovers were joined as One in the Covenant. It is this Covenant that the two knew little about when they said, “I do.” However, it is the Covenant that has sustained the Tree for 60 years. The tree grew very quickly during the first 13 years and the lovers were blessed with seven limbs that sparkle like diamonds in winter when the sun shines on snow. Like diamonds, each limb is unique, with its own flaws and brilliance. As the seasons passed the limbs have grown strong with many shoots which continue to grow and bring an abundance of life and joy to the tree. The tree, while it has grown, has weathered many a storm and does bare the blemish of human imperfection. Just as the lovers remember their own seasons of challenge, the limbs, too, remember. As time has passed the challenges have fashioned all with a true sense of the importance of Family. For us, we like to remember our parents listening to the same music, floating across a dance floor, mirroring each others' moves, yet each adding their own touch of creativity to a Covenant in God's perfect Love. written by Sharon | March 1950 | Happy Diamond Anniversary!
