FC: A YEAR IN REVIEW | Math 140 | M

Chapter 1 We learned about inductive reasoning, patterns. The way i learned this concept is that i just focused on the data that was given and then used common sense from there. You just have to look at the pattern and pick the best choice that would come next.

Area is a topic we covered in chapter 2. There were different formulas for different shapes. I just remembered these by reviewing and doing the course compass. That helped me remember the formulas.

Metric System | We learned how to convert one part of the metric system to another part. You do that by moving how many decimal spots the unit is away from the other on the metric ladder. I just remembered that by making sure i knew what order they came in. If you know that the rest is easy.

ANNIVERSARY | Estimating is also something we learned in chapter 8. For example the problem to find the approximate area of a kitchen table. Then you have three choices. If you know the metric system and the order then this should be no problem.

{ | { | We also learned how to find out if a set of data was well defined or not as well. A set is well defined. A set is well defined if it can be determined. For example "The five best presidents" wouldn't be a set because it couldnt be determined.

We learned how to determine if a infinite or finite. A set is infinite if it cant be counted. For example if the set is all numbers above 25. That would be infinite because it couldnt be counted. You just have to be aware of whats countable and not.

"The friends we meet on the path of life make the trip worth while." | We learned how to use venn diagrams to find the answers to problems. You take your set of data and place it in the correct circles or in the middle of them depending on where they are supposed to be placed. if there is a piece of data that is part of 2 you put it in the middle of the two circle and subtract that from the circle.

Changing fractions to percent. To change fractions to percents is you divide the numerator by the denominator. Then you move the decimal over two times to get in the hundredth column.

Spring Time | Simple interest is another thing we learned. You get the simple interest by multiplying pay*rate*time. It was fairly simple if you just know the formula.
