Dear Expectant Parents and Family, We are so very humbled and appreciative for you taking the time to read our profile! We can only imagine what emotions are overwhelming you, but please know that we consider you the best parent(s) and courageous for choosing to give your child a chance at life. That is the ultimate gift that no one but you can give your child. We would like you to know how much we respect you and recognize the sacrifice you are making for your child. We hope that whatever you are looking for in adoptive parents you will find in us. Our names are Johnny and Amber. After three years of trying to conceive and after a few months of infertility treatments, we really felt like adoption was not just our "only" option, it was the BEST option; truly a gift! In June of 2009 we welcomed into our lives our first little blessing, our 3-year-old boy named Ryker. We have a wonderful open-adoption relationship with both if his first families and even some of their friends! We truly feel like it is the best option for our family now, and for our future family dynamic as well. On top of providing a loving home for your child, we will provide a safe, nurturing, fun-filled place for him or her to grow and, more importantly, thrive in. We promise to provide stability, loving support, spiritual guidance, and many educational opportunities. We will expose them to diverse cultures, music, and art of all types, technology and the great outdoors. More importantly we promise to let your child know that the decision you made was done purely out of extreme love, courage and strength. Sincerely, Johnny, Amber and Ryker
ABOUT US We officially met in September of 2003 through a mutual friend at church when Johnny finished his service for the United States Navy. Amber was singing on the worship team and Johnny joined soon after. We connected through that music and we went on our first official date in December of 2003. From that day on we knew we would be together forever. Johnny proposed in March of 2004 and we got married on August 14th, 2004. We adore one another and work hard to carve out a rich life together. Naturally our life story was leading us to start a family and after two years of trying to conceive and a few infertility treatments with no success, it become apparent that God had another story already written for us. That soon lead us to adopting our son, Ryker. Ryker talks about a baby brother or sister often and we know that he is going to be an amazing big brother. We have the greatest desire to create the best life possible for our children, and we are eager to start this incredible new journey even deeper into parenthood.
OUR HOME We currently live in a cozy 3-bedroom apartment in the Denver Lower Highlands area (also known as “LoHi”) with the best views of our Denver skyline. We really enjoy being downtown, however, we are in the process of having a house built in Broomfield, Colorado. This will allow us to lay down our roots and provide a place for our child(ren) to grow and thrive. It is an amazing community that is very active and has tons of young families for us to connect with! We are very excited for the completion date which is supposed to be March 2013. OUR JOBS, HOBBIES, INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES Amber loves being a stay at home mommy to Ryker. She also started her own company selling Premier Designs Jewelry in her spare time. She does this more for fun than anything because she loves fashion and jewelry. Johnny is the Vice President for a start up company named MapVine. He loves being able to do what he has a passion for while being paid. His job offers a lot of flexibility so he can work from just about anywhere. This is great because another thing we love to do is travel! We have been on several trips (big and small). Ryker has already been to Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Utah, Florida (twice), New York, and Hawaii, in his short life. Ryker attends a private preschool three days a week for a couple hours a day just to get some social play time and be able to explore in a different way than we do at home. He loves it and he is thriving. Active and artsy is a great way to describe our family. We all love music and the arts. We have a band called The Remnants. We play mostly Christian music together, however, we do play covers and even write our own stuff. Every month we volunteer to play for a recovery group called Celebrate Recovery and we help local churches throughout Colorado with their services or events. We have also played for several non-profit events and even a biker rally! One of the most prominent interests in our lives is cycling. Johnny has participated in about a dozen local cycling events where they ride 150 miles at times. Amber has been in a few cycling events herself and her longest ride is 72 miles so far. If there isn't an event, we ride alone or with our closest friends as much as possible. Ryker has even been able to ride in some of these events with us (Amber pulls him along in the Chariot).
Amber through Johnny's eyes Amber is an extremely talented and beautiful wife whose very presence lights up any room. She has a knack for making conversation with anyone and takes great joy in entertaining and being around friends and family. She is also very organized; creating order out of any chaos ranging from the small things like cleaning and organizing the neglected closet to large things such as raising our son. Her transition into motherhood was so completely seamless it was and is impressive. Her role as a mother and wife is an unfathomable necessity in making our family the success that it is. She makes sacrifices for our family on a daily basis and she does so freely by putting the needs of our son and I above her own. Amber excels in making dull things fun and fun things unforgettable and exudes creativity in everything she does. One thing that comes to mind is her many, many hair styles and colors she has sported over the years. Amber enjoys music and loves to sing. She also co-directs and performs in an annual “Broadway Review” that seamlessly places together the best numbers from a handful of Broadway musicals. To top that off, Amber has always had an unbelievable love for children and pays very close attention to not only their behavior but also to the way that they comprehend their environment. It is not different with our son, and probably more! Amber thinks on a level of aesthetics and beauty that I can only begin to comprehend and this, along with her kindness, warmth, and acute understanding, makes her the best mother I could ever have hoped for.
Johnny through Amber's eyes Johnny is a remarkable and respectful husband and father. After working hard everyday he comes home and makes quality time for Ryker, plays with him, sings with him, gives him a bath, and he puts him to bed every night. Johnny has a great and passionate heart and a grounding disposition. Children naturally gravitate to him and he is always willing to play along. I adore his playful sense of humor and so do the people around us. He is very smart and loves learning new things. He enjoys biking, hiking, running and most outdoor activities. He is an AMAZING guitarist and he sings and plays drums as well. He also takes great pride in our home and enjoys doing projects to keep it looking spectacular and technically savvy. | In September of 2003, Johnny finished his service for the United States Navy and came back home from Hawaii, where he was stationed for three years. During his time in the service he was able to visit many places and meet many people. He went straight to school when he got back, and in March of 2008, Johnny graduated from Regis University with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. In 2011 he won an Emmy Award for an iPad application he created for Time Warner Cable! He just never ceases to amaze me with his talent. He currently works as a Lead Principal Engineer at a startup company that he is building from scratch and I have no doubt it is going to be successful because Johnny does nothing less. I am extremely thankful and proud to have married such a considerate, dependable and loving husband and father. He is hands down our hero.
Our Ryker Mason Ryker is an amazing, quirky, little man. He not only impresses us daily but he makes impressions on the family, our friends and his teachers on a regular basis. Ryker tends to be a little more introverted but he can get a long and keep up with all of his friends and cousins. If he finds himself overwhelmed he will go to his room for a few minutes, shut the door, and read a book or play with his train set. He is very smart. He has known his shapes, colors, numbers and letters since he was about 21 months old. His favorite activities are walking, running, dancing, tracing letters and numbers, painting, reading and playing games on his iPod. He is very adaptable and although shy at first, he warms up to new people fast and starts showing off immediately. He is very sensitive and patient with other children, which is how we know he will be a fantastic big brother. He is excited to have a constant companion to play with and teach and learn all new things.
This is Reepicheep or just "Reepi." He is a Chihuahua/Terrier Mix and just a little guy! Reepi lost his left eye while he and another puppy were playing. We aren't sure exactly what happened, and the emergency vet couldn't repair it. Reepi was only 3 months old when this happened and he doesn't know life any other way. He is very happy and a very spoiled dog. Ryker has fun playing with him and taking him out on our walks and giving him treats. Reepi goes with us on as many trips as possible. A good addition to our little family.

Vacations | We try to take a big yearly vacation and mini vacations throughout the year. We think its important to expose ourselves to as many different places and cultures as possible.
Staying Active | We do many active running or cycling charity events in the community to raise awareness and money for things such as Breast Cancer, MS, Green House Scholars, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's. | When we aren't involved in an event we still get outside to ride, hike, run, swim, or just go for a walk.
Performing and The Arts We really enjoy art of all kinds! We paint, do photography, play instruments, sing, dance, and perform and direct an annual Broadway Review.
Friends and Family We often get together with our friends and family. They are our biggest support group and totally support our adoption decision. The kids also enjoy their special time together too! We couldn't do much without these amazing people in our lives!
Legacy of an Adopted Child Once there were two women who never knew each other.. One you do not remember, the other you call mother. Two different lives, shaped to make Your one... One became your guiding star, the other became your sun. The first gave you life and the second taught you to live it. The first gave you a need for love, and the second was there to give it. One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name. One gave you a seed of talent, the other gave you an aim. One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears. One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears. One gave you a family, it is what God intended her to do. The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you. And when you ask me, through your fears, the age old question unanswered throughout the years... Heredity or environment .. Which are you the product of.. Neither, my darling .. neither.. just two different kinds of love. ~ Author Unknown ~
