 Chance Stomps Out Fear

Hey boys and girls my name is Chance. I have gone through fears like you and I learned how to stomp them out. | I was scared of going to bed, nightmares, and big dogs. | I want other children to see that they can work through their fears by themselves.

One thing that I was scared of was going to bed. The reason why is because I had nightmares everytime I went to bed.

Like I said before I was scared of really big dogs. I was very little when I saw my first dog and it was bigger than me. I saw that they growled a lot and that they barked really loudly and loud noises frighten babies and younger children.

These dogs right here were the ones that I was really scared of they look really vicious. I was scared that they were going to get me all the time.

Then I saw another little kid playing with a big dog and he wasn;t frightend or scared. So I thought that if he wasn't scared, I wasn't either.

The worst one that got me was my fear of monsters. A lot of kids are scared of monsters in their closet or under their bed. And besides they look really ugly.

The other thing that I was scared of was ghosts. they could go anywhere. | The thing that helped me get over these fears was that first I look to see if monsters are real and I learned they aren't. For the ghosts, I had to tell myself that there are no such thing as ghosts. And that they are made up by people just for fun.

The last thing that I was scared of was my nightmares. I kept waking up constantly. They scared me really bad.

I was scared to go to bed. I would stay awake alot before I eventually fell asleep. When I did fall asleep I would wake up and scream til somebody heard me.

I would lay awake fior hours and wait til I felt it was all right to fall asleep; cause I thought that it was safe that I wouldn't have any nightmares.

When it was day time I would be so tired from staying awake for hours the night before.

My nightmares would have something like this in them. | But as the days kept coming I would get tired of being afraid of something that I had control over. I would usually read a book that had a very good ending to it to ease my mind before I went to bed.

SO as I kept doing these things I found out that they really worked. My nightmares didn't come back hardly at all. I felt so happy that I didn't have to read anymore books to have a good night sleep. For a kid like me all I want is to sleep peacefully.

Days went by I didn't have anymore encounters with any of my fears anymore and my parent s and I were so happy and still are.

Now I could go out and play with kids and not worry about my fears getting in the way with me having fun. My parents were also happy seeing me happy.

I was so happy that I could have screamed. Because I was so happy that I finally stomped out all my fears and nothing was going to bring them back.
