The fall of 2009 finds our little boy happy and healthy. Each day he shocks and amazes us with the new things he has learned to do. | Hamming it Up
Cole has an innate ability to look upon everything with great joy... life lesson for us all from a 2 year old.
 Say Ahhhhh!
 The Original Wisconsin Ducks Tour
The family and Nana took a brief trip in September to the Wisconsin Dells where we stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge. The water park was tons of fun & all three kids loved the water slides! We took one amphibious tour on the Wisconsin River and Lake Delton in what is known in the Dells as a "Duck." Cole was terrified.
 Great Wolf Lodge Wisconsin Dells
We had dinner at Moose Jaw the first night and donned our antlers. The following night we had dinner at the best authentic Italian restaurant "Sarrentos." Cole was exhausted from his day at the water park and slept through most of dinner in Mom's arms. We bought some cheese, sausage, and fresh veggies before heading back home. It was a fantastic 4-day spur of the moment get-a-way.
My little boy brings me a world of sunshine He turns grey clouds into a sky of blue He goes around singing nursery rhymes And I am compelled to join the singing too He is not yet old enough to attend school But he leaves pencil marks on everything I see He is always making things with the tools He keeps in his little world of make-believe He helps me when I clean and cook He tries hard to do his part He uses my recipes for a coloring book And brings a piece of heaven to my heart The time will come when he is grown But these fond memories will not fade when he is out and on his own I will recall the many times we played | My Little Boy
 Squirrel Watching Sept. '09
Guests | Things I love about my little boy... | -how each new blade of grass holds the same fascination as the one before it -his crazy wild curly hair which he insists on having his hat to cover when outside | -how when he discovers something new and exciting he must share it with someone he loves -his need for Mom's snuggles
Cole went as a 2 year old that refused to wear his Halloween costume. He was supposed to have been a pumpkin. | Halloween 2009
Basking in the sun on a warm Autumn day | Fall 2009
Autumn 2009 was unseasonably mild with most days hitting 60 degrees.
The snow fell gently all the night. It made a blanket soft and white. It covered houses, flowers and ground But did not make a single sound.
Mom is so in love with my hair she refuses to cut it very short yet... hence the adorable mess of red curls!
December 2009 marked the first year Cole really experienced the snow hands on.The magnitude of his joy and amazement was truly priceless. | Though his enthusiasm for a photo op is still hit or miss...
Our most treasured family heirlooms are our sweet family memories.
These photos were the night of the twins' Christmas concert at school. Cole required bribery in the form of candy suckers to sit still but ultimately looked adorable (meaning adorably ornery!)
Cole loves talking on the phone to his Nana. He makes sure he ends every phone conversation with a kiss!
Playing in a tent at Bass Pro Shop - he ended up with one for Christmas!
All I want for Christmas is ...
 Dear Santa, I can explain...
 Captain Underpants
"Although it's been said, many times, many ways, Merry Christmas to you!"
"There is only one happiness in life, to love and to be loved."
"be like the flower, turn your face to the sun." - Kahlil Gibran | It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away.
Early in the season, Mom and Cole spent a day at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. As Cole has a fascination with birds and chases them often, he was thrilled to experience the aviary (a place Mom usually avoids due to the smell!)
Though you buy a child a wealth of toys, his favorite play-thing is still the yard.
 it's always spring in a mother's heart
What a beautiful view! | We got a new camper March 2010 and started camping in April!
They really DO love each other!! | CAMPING | Summer 2010 | Hopin' to catch a ride
Summer Lovin' | We rented a pontoon in Yankton for our 5 day family camping trip in June. | Cole's favorite thing to do while boating - NAP!
Cole spent lots of time with "Ma Hay-la" (cousin Haley), Zoe, Uncle Dan and Aunt Jenny camping over the spring and summer. Our favorite haunt was Prairie Rose State Park. | Few outdoor photos of Cole without a hat exist... poor fair child!
Families are like fudge ... mostly sweet with a few nuts. | Uncle Dan's famous biscuits 'n gravy while camping!
 MAKING MEMORIES
At the swimming pool in Avoca, IA with Mommy and brothers
 Cole's First Snow Cone "Mommy... it's c-c-c-cooold!"
Cole and Mom baked cream cheese cutout cookies for his birthday. He made trucks, airplanes, dinos, and hearts. Cole shared with Cameron and Kaden when they got home from school!
We spent a day attempting to potty train and though Cole went in the potty when he wanted without problem, he had a hard time staying dry. To end the day, Cole pooped in his undies and spread it all over the dining room... Mom decided to wait a little longer for potty training!
Nearing his third birthday, Cole is very talkative and has a hilarious take on life. He loves being outdoors especially camping and swimming. He lacks fear in the swimming pool and loves any kind of water slide that he is big enough to go down! Cole is also a natural born fisherman and has caught many fish all by himself in his young life! He can cast like a pro! When in the house, Cole's staples are Mickey Mouse and breakfast bars (his morning routine). He continues to sleep in a crib. Cole knows all of his letters their sounds. He is beginning to work on counting but currently says "One, three, three, three..." Favorite foods include pizza, cheeseburgers, fries, and anything served with syrup. For the most part, he detests noodles of any kind and will not eat pasta with the exception of an occasional serving of mac 'n cheese. Cole is gripped by the 'mine' phase and often has a tough time sharing which makes his tender giving moments that much sweeter. He still snuggles while reading books at bedtime and has to have his satin blankie.
We had family photos taken around Cole's birthday so that we could have his photo at 3 years old. They turned out wonderfully! These photos were taken in the Gene Leahy Mall in Omaha.
I'm 3 Years Old! | Cole blew all 3 candles out before Mom even had the cake set down!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY | Cole had a Mickey Mouse cake and got several puzzles, books,a Diego boat, and a pizza chef kit for his birthday!
Cole's 3rd birthday was celebrated by inviting family to our house for a party. When Mom went to sneak a shower, Cole sneaked into his presents so these were the only photos we were able to get!
