S: Brad & Barb
FC: Brad & Barb | A family is pieced together with hope and faith. A family is quilted and bound with love and grace.
1: Our letter to you Dear Birth Parents, We can not imagine how difficult this decision has been for you. We understand it is important for you to know that your child will be loved and will grow up happy. Our goal as parents is to create a home that will be the foundation of a successful adult. Adoption to us means an opportunity to build our family though the precious choice you are making. After we were married we really wanted to have a baby. We tried for three years without success. Our doctor told us adoption was our best option. | Our promise to you as adoptive parents is to provide stability, love, encouragement and security to your child. As the adoptive mom and dad we will make sure our child knows that they were brought into this world by a loving choice of wanting only the best for our child. We will make sure they know they are special because so many people love them so much! With love, Brad and Barb
2: Wedding Day | Our Story As cheesy as it sounds, we are one of the Match.com couples like you see on TV. We met in 2007 and married in 2008. It was strange but we knew when we met we had found that perfect match. Barb works for a children's group home in the Human Resource department and Brad is an Accountant for a large manufacturing company. We are super happy to have the opportunity to share this book with you. We are both originally from St. Louis. We grew up 20 miles from each other but never met until years later when we moved to a new town. Having a child in our life as been a dream of ours since we were married. Although we were not able to have children on our own we feel so very blessed to have the opportunity to build our family though Adoption. The Adoption Plan you are creating is an amazing gift of LOVE.
3: She is going to love this picture | We were married outside next to a big oak tree overlooking the water. What a wonderful day!
4: Brad though Barb's eyes Brad is the kindest person I have ever met. He is a care taker though and though. This is the guy who will stop on the side of the road to help you if you are in need. For years, Brad volunteered as a fireman for his home town. He attended college and worked full time and still found time to help others. He was eventually promoted to the rescue unit and worked with the jaws of life to evacuate people after a car crash. After he graduated with his first degree in Finance and then a second degree in Accounting he moved to a new town and had to hang up his fireman's hat. Although he is still always there to lend a hand to anyone who is need. Brad is calm, courageous and focused. Last year when my mom fell and broke her leg, Brad was right by her side to hold her hand until help had arrived. He is a committed husband and doggy dad to our Boston Terrier Emma. Over the past four years I have seen how much he wants to be a father. I know in my soul that he will be that dad who is at every soccer game, rain or shine, every dance performance, every parent teacher conference, every victory won and there with a strong shoulder for every tear shed. Brad is the kind of person people want to be friends with and I am so blessed to call him my husband. | Four......
5: My Favorite Story about Brad I have a lot of good Brad stories but the one that I love more then any other is the story how Brad and Emma, our dog, became best friends. Just before Brad and I met I purchased my first home. I wanted to make sure Emma had a lot of room to run and play in a safe back yard instead of being cooped up in an apartment all day. Shortly after we moved in I met Brad. He started coming over for dinner and getting to know Emma. One night I noticed Brad's eyes were red and he was sneezing a lot. I asked him what was wrong and Brad finally confessed he was allergic to dogs. "Allergic to dogs", I ask, "why have you never told me?" Brad's reply, "I knew you wouldn't date me if you thought I couldn't be around dogs." But he tells me he found a doctor who can treat his allergies and with ONLY two shots a week he can be around Emma without sneezing. Four years later Brad still goes to the allergist. But now it is every other week and still takes two shots to help his allergies to dogs. Most guys would have said get rid of the dog, but not Brad. He would rather endure doctors visits and injections for Emma Sue.
6: Barb though Brad's eyes I am so very proud to call Barbara my wife. Being married to her truly brings out the best in me. Her smile can brighten any room and her sense of humor can brings me to tears. Sometimes we laugh so hard I am left holding my sides. Barb is always ready to learn new things. Whether it be playing golf or riding her own motorcycle she gives no less than 100%. Her non-judgmental outlook on life is reassuring to people. I think it is her open minded attitude that makes people want to confide in her and look to her for advice. If I am having a challenging day she is always there to reassure and comfort me. One of Barb's greatest loves is animals. She is kind to all creatures big and small. If a grass hopper finds his way inside our home you can bet it will be caught and set free in the front yard (I have been designated the official catch and release captain of our home). For almost a decade Barb has worked for a nonprofit children's home that cares for abused and neglected children. I know her passion for children and have no doubt she will be an awesome mom just as she is an awesome Wife!
7: My Favorite Story about Barb When Barb sets her mind to something you can bet she is going to finish. About two years ago Barb started talking about learning to ride her own motorcycle instead of riding on the back of mine. Determined she signed up for a local college safety class. The day of the class it was storming outside but come rain or shine the class was scheduled to continue. Having never operated a motorcycle to say she was overwhelmed is putting it mildly. The class did not go as well as she had expected. She came home and told me she needed to practice. I did not know if she was joking when she told me she needed her own bike to practice on but I found the perfect red motorcycle and surprised her. The next month was spent in a parking lot with Barb going round and round and just as I had suspected she got it. She even talked me into teaching one of her friends to ride so she would have another girl to ride with. The three of us took the class a few weeks later. Both girls are now licensed motorcycle riders. Barb tries her best at everything she does. Even if something is hard she will keep at it until she find her way.

9: Brad's mom is a retired school teacher and his dad is a retired school counselor. December of this year will be their 45th wedding anniversary. He has one brother, two nephews and one niece. His brother Ryan builds engines for race cars. Although they don't live in the same town as us we see them every couple of months. Brad's mom and dad are avid RV'ers and travel two or three months of the year. They are living the good retired life and will be so helpful once we Adopt since they can come and stay for as long as we need. Both of Brad's grandfather's passed away. Both were WWII vets and a great influence in Brad's life. Brad has tons of cousins in his home town and we love that we get to see them so often. His grandmother whom we call Bai Bai, is 88 years old and still lives alone. She cooks an amazing breakfast for us each time we visit. She is a strong Christian woman who always keeps us laughing. In this picture she is "Planking" with her grandchildren.

11: Barb's family is small, just her and her brother, but her extended family is really large. Her mom is 1 of 14 kids and her dad is 1 of 12. Barb's mom and dad have been married 45 years. They live 10 miles from our house so we are able to spend lots of time with them. Barb's dad is a retired systems engineer and Barb's mom has been a stay at home mom all her life. Barb's grandparents have passed away but she was lucky to spend a lot of time with them. Her cousins are so much fun and it is lively when we get together. Barb is very close to her aunts and uncles and loves spending time with her family. They are all so excited that we are Adopting. | Uncle Steve and and his family on the boat | Barb's cousin Susanne, Brad & Baby Brayle
12: Emma Sue | Are you sure this isn't my bed? | Please come play Mr. Squirrel | IeW | Emma | Emma came to live with Barb when she was 5 week old. She was a gift from her best friend Devin. The vet said this was too early to wean a dog but Emma's mom had problems feeding her puppies. Barb fed her a formula that the vet gave her and Emma did very well for a while. Then at 15 weeks Emma became ill with parvo. The vet told Barb that a puppy that small would not survive and trying to save her would be very expensive. At the time Barb was new to her job, single and did not make much money, but that didn't matter. As you can see Emma is a Healthy and Strong 8 year old Boston Terrier. She is an amazing dog that loves people and is so sweet with Kids.

We are very blessed to have such a great community.

19: Our prayer is that you know peace and comfort as you travel down this road.
