S: Malia and Her Grandmas

FC: It's the little things that make life beautiful | MIGHTY MALIA and Her GRANDMAs | Written for Malia by Aunt Kathy

Once upon a time, in the city of Chehalis, a baby girl was born. Her name was Malia. | On that cold, September night she brought sunshine to this town.

This little baby made Papa and Bumpa grin and grin. Her grandparents fought over who could hold her. (They all wanted to hold this cuddly, smiling little baby.)

"Little girls have a magic all their own."

In some ways, Malia was like all babies. She needed to eat, poop, and sleep. But, she would smile a lot too. It's like she knew that one of her jobs would be to make people smile, and to focus on the good and great parts of life.

As this beautiful, brave girl grew, she moved many times. But Grandma Ann and Grandma Angie were always there to give her what she needed. | What does Aunt Jessi like to do?

Jessi lived in ten homes before she got married. She is happy and a good Mom so Malia knows that she can be too. It is family, not the house, that gives a child what they need.

Sometimes when Malia was young, the adults in her life changed. But, Grandma Ann and Grandma Angie were always around ready to help her because they loved her.

She heard stories about Grandma Angie having some adults change in her life when she was little. Grandma is working hard and will be a nurse, is a good Mom, and a loving Grandma. Malia knows that her life will be okay too. | What does Grandma Angie like to do?

Grandma Ang still moved a lot but every place she and Bumpa moved, there was room for Malia. (Stay with those who love you and each change can be good.) | What does Aunt Jaque like to do?

Malia often heard stories of Aunt Jaque and how she had several surgeries when she was only five. One was even on her heart! It made her see that life can be tough but you can still play, laugh, love, and be loved. (Aunt Jaque even climbed trees after her surgeries.) | GET UP AND MOVE ON

Malia went to school, had good teachers, and Grandma Ann helped her too. This young lady worked hard to be a great student. | What does Aunt Jamie like to do?

Jamie broke her leg while she was playing soccer. She loved playing soccer but this brave lady accepted that this sad event ended her high school soccer days. Watching Jamie, Malia was able to learn that life can get tough for everyone but you can get up with a good attitude.

Malia likes pretty things and likes to look pretty. Her grandmas help her to feel good about herself by helping her do well in school. Also, they give her outlets for her creativity. Her aunts can give her ideas on how to dress and act in public.

Say Cheese! | What does Aunt Nikka like to do? | Jenikka worked hard in school, graduated, got a job, moved into an apartment. She has followed her dreams and some have worked out and some haven't but Malia can see that Aunt Nikka will keep heading toward her goals.

When Landon was born, Malia couldn't play with him. When he started to grow up and walk, they became best friends. | Landon loved books so Malia would read to him. | What does Landon like to do?

 Smiles Are Contagious!

Malia is loved by so many people

 Malia makes people laugh.

These people love Malia. She makes them smile. She makes them laugh. She brings joy to this family and to the world.

Malia, You are such a strong, young lady who is loved by many. You are able to think about good things, accept the bumps in life, get back up when knocked down, work hard in school, keep finding things that are healthy choices, and laugh at life. | Malia, God also loves you and will always be with you. Read about Him and pray. He is always with you. Love, Aunt Kathy
