14: Yvonne homework at the kitchen table while dinner was cookin' and encouraging words were given - my first taste of "normal"; holidays and the importance of making them special'; looking in at a bare refrigerator and saying "It must be Sunday"; planting seeds of the importance of family time through "Friday Family Nights"; mother-daughter bonding over clogging - "shuffle, step, back, step"; constant encouragement in so many ways; teaching my college friends many "Mom-isms" like "obedience is immediate"; being a living example of God's unconditional love - His message lives through you!! | Christopher I have fond memories of you "lollying" my back to get me to go to sleep... a tradition that continues with Jen to this day! Two times now, you have stood by my side during surgeries that rendered me helpless and in need of companionship. Your sacrifices during those times have meant the world to me, Riding to middle school with Chad Brown...we were acting obnoxious in the back seat. You mustered up (and I don't know how) the energy at 7:30 in the morning to "rap" our song names, I admire how dedicated you are to your family and children. Your unconditional love never ceases to amaze me! | Keith I remember... The way you would "lolly" my back and how you would just hold me, No natter what the situation, I could always count on you, your laugh and the way you sing. | Memories of Mom
15: Shannon You always used to say, "Mrs. Hayburn is watching over u and me," Laying in bed cuddling with you, Brushing your hair and watching t.v. - my favorite was watching "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" | Douglas I remember you coming to see me on family day at New Dominion, Trying to get Shannon into her Easter dress when we lived at Quadrangle - we all laughed together when she gave you "that look", Always putting your kids ahead of yourself, Teaching me how to drive on the back roads in Waynesboro, For being my mom and the only one I'll ever need, For bringing me into your family and loving me with all of my problems, For your spirit of love, unselfishness, pushing your kids to their best and showing unconditional love and support.
