Everyone is subject to errors and I am no different. I have presented this information as I have collected it; it is not guaranteed nor warranted. (At least the photos don't lie!) Tonita
Our Family History | The picture on the front cover was taken at their 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration in 1975. However, this is how they dressed on a daily basis.
After Henry and Mary married, they lived in a 2-room house on Peter Cave. When they left Peter Cave, they moved to the 'rock' house, although it was not a rock house at the time. Henry gathered the rocks from the field across the road and added them to the house. When Grandpa and Grandma Vaughn moved to Ohio, they sold their place to Henry and Mary for $5,000 and built the brick house that stands there today. Also pictured, Seven Pines School House, Henry playing a home-made musical instrument he called a harmonie, and the barn across the road from the house.
Like branches on a tree, our lives may grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one. | Henry and Mary had six children. Beulah was the first born in 1926; David was the first son born in 1928; Dillard in 1932; Roy in 1934; Eula in 1936; and Henrietta in 1939. Beulah died in 1932 from diphtheria. After she was buried in the cemetery on Peter Cave, Henry built a shed to protect her grave from the elements. Eula died at age 2 from diarrhea, apparently from eating too many early green apples. Unfortunately, the only photo found of Eula is one of her in her coffin.

Top photo was taken in front of the rock house. Front row: Nan, Alpha holding a child, Henrietta next to Mary; second row: Roy, Freddie, David and Dillard in the back. Right photo was taken on Peter Cave of George and Nan's Grandchildren - David is the little boy sitting on left in front with his hands in his lap and his hair just so so. (Some things never change.)
Great Grandfather | Great Grandmother | David standing on a piano stool; David and Virgie in their courting years (right). As time goes by... David and Virgie at Thanksgiving, 2010 (below). | David at the sawmill.... | Virgie and David with Zachary, Jonathan, and Davey
Father | David married Virgie Andrews and they had 3 children - David Douglas, Tonita Jo, and Jennifer Lynn. Little Davey, as the family calls him, married Marilyn Litton and gave them their only grandchildren - Jonathan David & Zachary Litton. Tonita married Roland Gordon Goodwin and Jennifer married Russell Smith. Tonita and Jennifer gave them their 'grandcats'! | David's Family

Henrietta married Bruford 'Bruce' Andrew, a brother to Virgie Andrews that married David, Henrietta's brother. Thus, their children are double first cousins. Henrietta and Bruce had four children and seven grandchildren - Gregory Bruce had Amber Nicole and Aaron Gregory (married Heather Taylor); Jerry Michael had Austin Michael, Alex Bruce, and Adam Blake; Pamela Gail had Pamela Brooke; and Rhonda Michelle had Brittney Michelle.
 Henrietta's Family
Roy's Family | Roy married Mae Mullins and they had four children. Unfortunately, the first born, Gary Wayne, did not live. Above is a picture of Roy with the other three, Roger Dale, Steve Darrell, and Regina Lynn. | Christie, Roger's daughter. Not pictured, is Kimbra, Steve's daughter. | Regina and her husband, Roy Hoover.
Cousins of Henry and Mary Vaughn Parrott
Henry was the son of George and Diane 'Nan' Bransteter Parrott (top left and center photos). The information on Henry's mother is very limited. All I have is her father was Henry Bransteter (spelled many different ways) and her mother was Tilda Parker. As for Henry's father, George Franklin Parrott, his mother was Maranda Falbush (spelled as Forbes, Faubus, etc.), daughter of Elliot Forbes and Martha 'Patsy' Parker. Patsy was the daughter of Alexander Parker and Margaret Forbush. (I don't know if that is yet another spelling of Falbush or not.) Maranda's father, Elliot Forbes, was the son of Sally McCommon (daughter of William McCommon) and William Forbes, Sr. William was the son of Sgt. John Faubus, Sr., son of Robert Forbes, son of William Forbes. This last William was born in 1705 in Scotland. George Franklin Parrott's father, Robert Parrott, was the son of Agnes Payne and Joseph Joel Parrott. The first names of the ancestors include Armstead, Joel, James, Robert, and Thomas and somewhere in the late 1500s or early 1600s Parrott was changed from Perrott. And, if the information is correct, this line is connected to an illegitimate line of King Henry VIII. Illegitimate, but still royal! | Robert and Maranda Falbush Parrott
When you look at your life, the greatest happinesses are family happinesses. ~Joyce Brothers | 1975 - Robert, Henry, Bertha, Alpha, Allen, and Bessie | Allen, Bertha, Robert, Pearl, Alpha, Henry and Mary | Bessie and Albert Floyd
Our most treasured family heirlooms are our sweet family memories. | Bertha, Carmen (Tootsie), Carter, Georgia, Virgil, Dave, Linda, Sarah, Mary, and Myrtle; (in front) Lee and Homer | Henry, twins Mary and Sarah, Roy | Mary was the daughter of Dave and Malinda 'Lindy' Truett Vaughn and she had a twin sister, Sarah. It was told that the twins were so small when they were born, a tea cup would fit on their heads! Lindy was the daughter of William Thomas "Billy" and Lydia "Lidy" Cope Truett.
William 'Billy' Thomas and Lydia 'Lidy' Cope Truett | Dave and Malinda 'Lindy' Truett Vaughn with granddaughter, Carolyn | To go back a little further, Dave Vaughn was the son of Mary 'Susan' Scoonover and William Vaughn, son of Thomas Vaughn and Lydia 'Liddie' Seal; Thomas was the son of William Vaughn and Margaret Peggy Wells. As already stated, Lindy Vaughn was the daughter of Billy and Lidy Cope. Billy was the son of Redden Truett and Elizabeth Moore. Lydia 'Lidy' Cope Truett was the daughter of Micager Cope and Mary 'Polly' Brewer, daughter of Howell Cobb Brewer and Nancy Louisa Short. Micager was the son of James Cope and Elizabeth Amix. James was the son of William Cope and Sarah Holland, daughter of George Holland and Mary Coleman. So now you know some of your DNA may have markers from Truett, Moore, Cope, Holland, Coleman, Amix, Brewer, Short, and others that I do not have info on as of yet.
Famous Relatives Josh Hutcherson is Alpha's (Henry's sister) great grandson. Jeff Parrett is Allen's (Henry's brother) grandson. And if the info is correct, here is King Henry VIII and Sir John Perrott.
