FC: The Family of Betty Jane Argroves Bailey

1: Since this album is being compiled for "Nanny" Bailey by her children and grandchildren, we have only included her family history, with a little information on the Bailey and Gill family line. The Argroves and O'Neal families are among the oldest in Meriwether County, Georgia. Most arrived in the area before the Civil War from South Carolina. In fact, our great-great grandfather (Matthias) was killed in the Civil War in 1862. There is much more family history to be explored. Mollie Jewel O'Neal Argroves and William Argroves married when she was only fourteen years of age. This resulted in a long marriage that produced thirteen children and twenty-six grandchildren. Hopefully one day we will extend our family geneology to include all of their great-grandchildren as well. The purpose of this album is to help us understand and appreciate our family heritage. All families are a history of great times, good memories as well as difficulties and tragedies. It is an interwoven part of our lives. Our hope is that someday our descendants will find this album in a dusty box and think:"Wow, there is a partial history of my family that goes back to the 1800's."

The values you've taught, care you've given, and the wonderful love you've shown have enriched our lives in more ways than I can count. We Love You Donna and Ronnie MERRY CHRISTMAS 2010

26: Mama There is no way that a few lines on a page can reflect my feelings toward you. You were my protection as a child and you have been my "rock" all of my life. With all we have been through, God gave us the kind of mother we would need. One who loved us unconditionally. One who was there through good and bad times. One who believed we could accomplish anything in life. You became a mother who loved our spouses as your own child. And now love your grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all your love. Thank you for everything. I Love You Ronnie

29: Dear Mom I want to wish you a Merry Christmas this year. You have been a wonderful mother. I know that one trait I inherited from you is "my strong willful ways." I owe most all my triumphs and successes to you. I want you to thank you for all the years you helped me raise my own strong and willful daughter. The verses in the Bible I want to leave with you are Isaiah 49:15-16 and Isaiah 66: 13. I know you raised me upright and I know you loved me during worst and best times but most of all you protected me when I needed it most. May God always bless you for all you have done through the years. I Love You My Special Mother Sheila
