6: (Catharine) Ruth went to nursing school in Philadelphia and became a dedicated Registered Nurse. She never left Philadelphia from that point forward. She took care of hundreds of patients throughout her career. She was a beautiful daughter and a loving sister to her family. She's one tough cookie. Today, she is the last remaining member of her immediate family. (Catharine) Ruth just turned 94 years old.

7: (Catharine) Ruth was a very smart and brave little girl. She left her home in New Jersey and attended the Woman's Medical College Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA. She lived in the nursing dorm during her schooling until she got married. Little did she realize way back then that Philadelphia was going to be her home for a very long time!

8: She met a fine fella' named Delbert Wilcox "Bud" Little who later asked her for her hand in marriage. | 1968 29th Anniversary | 1933 19 Years Old | 1945 | November 5, 1942 in PTC Uniform Susquehanna Ave. | 1938 | 1987 Deerun Place Philadelphia, PA

9: (Catharine) Ruth and Delbert Wilcox were married in a Baptist church in Philadelphia. They married on February 25, 1939. They were happily married for 50 years. They first rented an apartment at 3031 W. Susquehanna Avenue in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia. It was a converted house and had 3 apartments. They then moved to their very own house at 4979 N. 2nd Street in the Olney section of the city.

10: They had two children... | 1948 with Donna Ruth 9 months old | 1944 with Bud and Fred | At Barnegat Light, NJ | 1954 with Bud and Donna Ruth | Together they had two spirited children, Fred and Donna Ruth. Fred grew up to be a mechanic and Donna a Project Manager for the Federal government.

12: Donna Ruth married Wayne Wentz Cook at Tabor Lutheran Church in Philadelphia, PA January 13, 1968. | One day, her baby daughter got married and started her own family | They rented an apartment at 6722 Martins Mill Road for a while and then bought their first house on 1415 Bleigh Avenue.

16: Their son Frederick (Fred) grew up and married his sweetheart Vicky Holtzinger. Together they had three beautiful daughters, Eleanora (Ellen), Jeannette, and Barbara. | The girls grew up and they started their own families.

17: When Ruth and Bud needed to move from 2nd Street they moved in with their son in Lower Pottsgrove, PA. During the summer Catharine Ruth and Louie used to visit for 2 weeks... giving their parents a break from parenthood. Ruth and Bud were always there to help out their family. | (Catharine) Ruth was a wonderful grandmother. The grandchildren would spend weekends over their house and Ruth and Bud played Rummy Q, taught them how to sew and crochet, cooked, brushed their teeth (with a special little toothbrush), said evening prayers before bed and tucked them in every single night.

18: Ruth and her church friend Nancy Hurley visited Louie's job on the Crystal Harmony in January 2004. A round trip New Orleans cruise, Ruth and Nancy spent a glorious 12 days sailing around the Caribbean and explored Key West, FL and Mexico.

Sliced bread, pop up toaster, microwave... | Tracing her ancestry, Ruth went to libraries to do research, wrote letters to strangers with possible connections, and typed up all her notes on a typewriter.

28: Little baby Ruth grew up and created love and kindness wherever she went. She was a busy bee at St. Luke's Memorial Church, always helping others either by driving them to church or helping set up for coffee hour.
