She took care of hundreds of patients throughout her career. She was a beautiful daughter and a loving sister to her family. She's one tough cookie. Today, she is the last remaining member of her immediate family. (Catharine) Ruth just turned 94 years old.
7: (Catharine) Ruth was a very smart and brave little girl. She left her home in New Jersey and attended the Woman's Medical College Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA. She lived in the nursing dorm during her schooling until she got married. Little did she realize way back then that Philadelphia was going to be her home for a very long time!

9: (Catharine) Ruth and Delbert Wilcox were married in a Baptist church in Philadelphia. They married on February 25, 1939. They were happily married for 50 years. They first rented an apartment at 3031 W. Susquehanna Avenue in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia. It was a converted house and had 3 apartments. They then moved to their very own house at 4979 N. 2nd Street in the Olney section of the city.

During the summer Catharine Ruth and Louie used to visit for 2 weeks... giving their parents a break from parenthood. The grandchildren would spend weekends over their house and Ruth and Bud played Rummy Q, taught them how to sew and crochet, cooked, brushed their teeth (with a special little toothbrush), said evening prayers before bed and tucked them in every single night.
18: Ruth and her church friend Nancy Hurley visited Louie's job on the Crystal Harmony in January 2004. A round trip New Orleans cruise, Ruth and Nancy spent a glorious 12 days sailing around the Caribbean and explored Key West, FL and Mexico.
